I can imagine that the idiots on X were able to be more direct with their nonsense than the idiots here.Keshon has scrubbed/deleted his X account, FWIW. Was posting (positively) during game yesterday, but now, nothing.

I think this is probably 100% correct. Reading about players and coaches around the country getting hateful messages, even death threats, I'm sure Keshon was too.Just based on what's posted in this thread i can only imagine what kind of garbage he was getting sent directly to him in his feed.
Cmon man. You don’t know what % he is right now or would be a week from now. I don’t think that he hurt the team vs byu. The rumor makes a lot more sense than just shutting him down and having him stay in Ames. In a normal situation with a player in good standing, you don’t rule someone with this kind of injury out for good. You leave the door cracked, rehab like crazy, and hope that maybe he could play in the S16 or E8 if we make it.This makes no sense on a practical level. The dude is hurt - did you see him play against Cincinnati? Or in any Big 12 game since January?
The rumor that he’s asking for more money so he can play at 50% strength and hurt the team is beyond stupid and doesn’t make any sense.

If people don’t want to believe the rumor, that’s great, but to say it doesn’t make sense is naive IMO.
This is even dumber. Let’s believe random rumors that make no practical sense (seriously, you think Keshon or Keshon’s dad went to TJ and said “I’m only playing injured if you give me more NIL money”?? Really?) from random internet posters who haven’t been right about anything over the head coach, the player, CW, Brent Blum, and others.
This crazy conspiracy theory **** is annoying.
None of the people you directly mentioned gain anything from telling the actual story publicly. In fact, most of them probably have something to lose if what actually is happening is made publicly available.

Ok, it doesn’t matter now anyway. But to say it makes no sense? You believe what you want to believe I guess. I’ve followed this sport for a long time…unless there’s a major injury like a broken bone or something requiring surgery, you never see someone just flat out get shut down for the tournament. What you do see is uncertainty….out “indefinitely” or there’s a “possibility” he could come back if we make the S16 or FF. Maybe the player never makes it back, but you keep that chance that maybe the rehab works and maybe he’s well enough to give it a shot in a week.
That rumor may or may not be true, but it makes perfect sense.
Heise's rough patch seemed to start when Milan got hurt and he got into a good groove when Milan came back. Like either the coaches told him or he told himself he needed to help pick up the slack and he wasn't ready for that. Milan coming back and him being able to be the 8th man again relieved some pressure.Early in the season, I thought Heise would be my favorite player on the team just because of his all around game. But man, he took a downturn where he was a liability on offense. Wouldn’t even look at the basket and couldn’t get rid of the ball quick enough. I’m not sure what happened, but somehow he found his confidence and is now playing like he was at UNI. Crazy. I mean, most players have ups and downs during a season, but this was a freaking roller coaster.
I have zero doubt that he was/is hurt and it has limited his effectiveness. But I also believe either he or his dad made a poor decision and now he’s paying for it. Not being able to play in the ncaa tournament as a senior? I’m not burying him, I feel bad for him. And, I still think he was a great player for us.Aside from conjecture and rumor.
The facts.
- Keshon started the year as a national player contender
- started to appear a step slow and hobbled as conference season began
- teams seemed to defend him differently and he tried to play by cutting through double/triple teams
- turnovers increased, production and efficiency dropped
- he began to display more and more frustration on the court
- his play continued at the reduced production, efficiency and turnovers
- TJ makes comment about individual vosls
- injury is made more public
- in and out of games
- keshon battles but is limited
- KG is **** down
It could be a myriad of things. I have no desire to dig for dirt that maligns KG or TJ. If a credible report surfaces. It warrants further consideration.
We would t be where we are this year or last without KG. No use in burying the guy.
I heard this exact same thing, but my "source" was through a friends brother-in-law that is connected to the ISU program. He said .... Gilberts dad went to TJ and basically said," "we" need more NIL if you want KG to playin the tournament".My source is in a position to know. Gilbert wanted some extra cabbage in exchange for playing in the NCAA tournament. Someone got into his ear and convinced him to pitch that idea to TJ and it blew up in his face.
I guess we’ll agree to disagree. But if I posted “Keshon was never really hurt and blew through his NIL money at Big Earl’s in Des Moines, faked an injury, so his dad could blackmail the head coach into more NIL money”, that could make perfect sense too.
Let’s go with your rumor or mine over the player, head coach, head athletic trainer, top Cyclone insider, and head of the WeWill Collective.
So that somehow makes Remo Gaggi, random internet poster who has not ever proven to know inside info, potentially credible? Should we believe every random internet rumor? Especially the really dumb ones like Keshon’ dad demanding money for his injured son to play? You are right that we will never likely know the full story but that doesn’t mean every rumor has credibility.
And CW and Blum have a track record of spilling the beans, even when it’s not favorable to the program. Chris did it with Caleb Grill. But sure, believe the conspiracy theories more…I guess that’s more fun?
Yes, I was info that his dad wanted more cheddar for him to play. TJ said nope.I heard this exact same thing, but my "source" was through a friends brother-in-law that is connected to the ISU program. He said .... I believe you 100%, especially since he's not with the team right now. If he was injured he would be with the team. It's too bad, I think with a healthy KG were a tough out and could definitly make the E-8.
Good to know you both have a friend's brother in law "connected" to the program.Yes, I was info that his dad wanted more cheddar for him to play. TJ said nope.

Wait, you expect those people to tell the truth when there’s nothing to gain and everything to lose? No one would do that in this kind of situation. And I wouldn’t expect them to.
