If this year has tought us anything it should be that depth is very important. with chittum having a redshirt i see us using casey and ech and paniro next year if they all stay.
I’m not convinced.
I think we’ll have a Frost at 141.
Don’t imagine that CS or AE will want to cut down next year and don’t think any of Paniro, CS or AE is an option for 165, so that would leave those 3 for 49/57.
In a perfect world, CS and Chittum redshirt, Paniro goes 57 and AE/JFrost handle 49.
Who knows what actually happens though.
Maybe I don’t know how the NCAA works any longer but how would Casey have a RS? Isn’t he technically using it this year ?
i just think its a one year issue. i dont believe ech will stay once yonger leaves so then having chittum casey and the frost brothers gives you a lot of horsepower yet in the lineup. i know guys leaving might be inevitible. it would be tough to see any of them go though

I thought about this. You got both frosts Ech paniro Swiderki and Chittum from 133-157. Someone is going to have to walk. Because someone isn’t from this list isn’t starting next year and who knows if Evan can make 133 next year. Just got to trust Dresser and his staff. I’m more excited about the transfer portal than ncaas truthfully but that’s just me.
Your line of thinking is very much on par with the wild world of the NCAA right now so watch it you'll end up being correct!

If a redshirt hasn't already been used, I believe it is taken in place of a med redshirt if there is an injury. I think he would have to have another injury to get another redshirt.

Valid pts and I don’t want to misconstrue giving spots to guys without being the best wrestler. If anything I think this enlightens me to the reality of how extensive roster mgmt is going to be going forward. Managing NIL and what you can allocate to room guys and starters, new allocations of numbers on the team etc. It’s going to be hectic to say the least…
The intial thrust on Swid is based on his leadership intangibles that have been floated around and gleaned from interviews that he seems to be the next “guy” like David was, rallies the team, guys follow he example etc. if there is any merit to the claim that him and Chittum are headed to OsU doesn’t that warrant assessing Swid “value” compared to just his wrestling ability? Yes the majority is what he does ON the mat BUT IF others within the program view him as that leader one would have to exercise caution more if he would leave not knowing the fall out behind it…this is magnified for us as we aren’t a NiL blue blood that can just write another check for the next shiny toy that wants to join us for awhile…we are a “draft and develop” with a few shiny toys at need positions.
Same analogy in FB if you got the “the guy” at QB your gonna get FA that want to join, if you don’t and he moves on your team could turn into a ghost town. Dresser has a great staff of coaches and a on campus case study in CMC on how to do more with less, let’s hope it

Man, IDK. He's too big for 197 but has a long way to go to be big enough for HWT. I don't see it.
I know what I would've done differently, they're messing around with the weights. Why not just let them wrestle where they are good? For example, MJ and Casey. Casey had to go down to 41 to get hurt. Let them wrestle where they are successful! They are also wrestling the same. Wheres improvement other than "being tough?" Where is the strategy? (Big 12s was not too hot.) All I am saying is I won't be surprised if other guys go in the portal based on the lineup and how things are going, unfortunately.
