Shredded? You went through a bunch of scenarios as fact and seemed to make a bunch of conclusions without evidence.

And do they reference any actual evidence that leads to it being an opt out?

Re: comparing Higgins to this situation: was Higgins hobbling around and unable to play more than a few series in football?

And lastly, Randy Peterson hahahahahahahahaha.
Geez ...why dont you go make a heart shaped collage of Keshon and go leave it on his doorstep thanking him for everything he has done. My goodness!

Yeah there's clearly no way there can be a middle ground on this type of thing.

So was Higgins struggling to run in games before the bowl game or not?

Did Randy have any other passively aggressive speculations? Did he get TJ on the line and ask if he'd be in Ames next year?

The subtext for people who are mad at Keshon is that he is healthy enough to play and is choosing not to for reasons not explained.

I've watched him the past two months and i don't think he's healthy enough to contribute, so for me it's not a huge thing. I just don't know what people have been watching or seeing to think he's ready to go, but won't.

As far as Petersen and Williams making a thing about KG being evasive to questioning about his health in recent weeks as a major bullet point to their insinuation he's opted out, keep in mind that evasiveness may have come from his own coaches who didn't want him speaking openly before the seeding for the tournament was announced. They seem to want to give TJ credit for this, without acknowledging that framing Keshon's responses to the press when asked about it would be job #1 there.

Keshon never did anything publicly for people to claim he's a quitter in his time here. Actually plenty to the opposite. If people have evidence he's ready to play but refuses to, it's time to show that, or forget about it.

Why in the world are you comparing a bowl game (an exhibition game) to the NCAA tournament in basketball?

Higgins poured everything he had into the team and the season while MEANINGFUL games were still being played. I bet Matt Campbell himself told Jayden to sit. He is a fringe 1st round draft pick!

Keshon is bowing out just as the most important part of the season is getting ready to start! What do you not understand about this? Wow! Whats worse, this team has a legit chance to make a Final Four run.

You's stating the bolded as fact. So, we're not doing moderation then.

Got it.

They are actually pretty similar in the context of both of them are scared of getting hurt. The only difference is one is already hurt to some degree and we have an exhibition game vs real NCAA tournament games.

Keshon is such a unique player. He was only getting better.

So much confidence in most phases of the game.

Playmaker. Incredible finishing around the rim. Beautiful touch and with contact. Able to hang in the air longer than his defenders and kiss the glass.

Really a special player.

Ok. I said I wouldn’t cry.

I just hope he travels with the team. If I remember correctly TJ was a little non-committal about this. If he's not on the bench that will only fuel rumors.

At the end of the day. He choose to not play. His loss, and you can’t say I’m not allowed to change my opinion on him. I wish him well, but I am allowed to think he wanted to focus on a future career then have one last chance to play for ISU, and that will change what fans and myself think of him. It also should be noted, it’s not like he already isn’t making money to be on a team, so all this about future earnings etc, is a wash to me.
He is injured. What part of that don’t you understand?

I don’t need to hear anything Petersen has to say.

I did listen and you are a smarter person than me. I don't know what the other poster heard but he has nothing to bring to it.

Yeah, Petersen using the bowl game opt out analogy just makes no sense to me. I don't see how a player would choose to try to play in the Big 12 tournament but not the NCAA tournament. Until I get an explanation for that, I won't believe Keshon is truly making the choice to opt out of the NCAA tournament.

All this back and forth about the truth of the matter and none of it matters. Gilbert's Iowa State career is over and the team is starting their tournament journey on Friday without him, those are the facts.
All this speculation about why he's really sitting is pointless. Wish him well going forward and move on with the players that are here and are ready to go battle starting Friday.
