Never going to worry about TJ finding guys. My only question is Batemon being listed as a combo guard is he capable of handling the point for major minutes if Tamin gets hurt or will PG skills be a necessary qualification for a transfer we bring in? I was hoping our add would be a true alpha scorer. Plus I’d rather see us only add one guard/ wing in the portal allowing these freshmen to be our bench/ rotation guys in the backcourt.

It's funny how late March - early April, when every D1 college basketball team has to reconstruct their entire roster, has become the most important time of the year in this NIL/portal world.

This is where TJ has really excelled. Hope he (and Brent) can work their magic once again.

The young man realizes that he has no shot at starting nor playing next season. He is smart to reopen his recruiting- no need to "waste" (not playing meaningful minutes) a season. Moreover, the staff had to let him out of his Letter of Intent.

You seem to be a real horse's ass most of the time. He's a teenage kid trying to decide how to route the next 4-5 years of his life. Maybe give him some slack and take a timeout while you're at it.
Why do you have to resort to name calling? I am not a fan of what Nocreativity said, "Good riddance, by far lowest rated player TJ has gotten a commitment from. He'll do better at Oakland or Eastern Michigan." However, his written word has not violated any board standards, so if you do not like what he has to say skip over his posts. Calling people names looks just as bad.

Fine, I'm just getting frustrated with all the decommitts. Regardless of whether it's coach or player initiated, it's not a good look for either side.
It is the unintended side effect of the NIL era. I could see Joshua Jefferson jumping off for a "BIGGER BAG." I have heard some of the top NIL programs are throwing a "sack of currency" at him.

I don’t think that you know what you’re talking about. TJ looks for analytical fits. Not top of the market guys. Find someone who can handle, defend and hit an open shot. Doesn’t have to be a 20ppg scorer. More like 12 at a mid major. Honestly he should have done that this year and let Fish go.
Yes. TJ and staff do not want to end up like Tang and the Wilcats- paying for pieces, i.e. Dug McDaniel and/or Coleman Hawkins, etc... that do not fit together as a whole. KSU spent 2 million on Coleman Hawkins and they ended up with a lost season.

I just don’t think that’s really an option. TJ has his flaws for sure. I don’t need to get into my opinion there, but roster building is NOT one of them. He’ll find some kid that averaged 12 and 4 at a low major that doesn’t need a big bag. And everyone will be saying wtf. Then the kid comes in and is a solid contributor off the bench.

He's likely going to follow his coach to Indiana when he gets that job.
Iowa, Indiana, or Virginia- those are the jobs associated with Ben McCollum name. The Indiana Job is the best of the three. Iowa is considered a bottom half team based on NIL support. Virginia is in the weak ACC- great job but a bust because of the potential uncertainty surrounding the ACC.

Toure will factor into pg minutes

And why do we want to avoid portal players that are better than freshmen, just so we can play freshmen? That’s antiquated

We may have to, simply because we can’t afford multiple rotation level transfers

Because we can only afford so many and it’s time to build a base again. Tamin will be a senior and Milan could be declaring after next season. He’s starting to show that he can be a consistent alpha.

Toure, Batemon, Mitchell and Pleta could be an amazing base to build on. All of them seem to be ready to compete for the opportunity to get rotational minutes next year.

If we want to go the route of all portal instead of any freshmen everyone is going to need to add a couple zeros behind there contributions.

If that’s the case could you spot me I’m a little short this month?,

Agreed. I made that statement a couple days ago and Nocreativity decided that wouldnt happen either

It's fun to dream but is there any indication we have any ties with him? He'll likely follow Mccollum whatever job he gets or end up somewhere like Kansas since he's from KC.
I get snarky remarks all the time and when I fire back a select group of dipshits jump down my throat. NC isn’t really even worth the effort to argue with.

I don't remember arguing with you ever unless you are referring to some Cubs posts?
