These are coaches and young men trying to make decisions that are best for themselves and their future. It seems a little myopic and self-centered to look at these decisions in terms of how they affect us as fans.
Also, my son was a D1 athlete. I saw teammates of his get insulted publicly on forums like this for lacking integrity and loyalty because they put their names in the transfer portal when the reality was they wanted to stay and it was the coach’s decision. The family and friends of these young men read these boards, so let’s be careful with how we react.
