NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

If you can't protect your receiver can't get deep anyway. But in general you are right and the Chiefs need a legitimate WR. I feel good with Rice coming back. The offense was bad all year.
Rice still has pending legal issues to play out too. Lots of key free agents to figure out who to pay and who to move on from. They definitely need to address the OL again after tonight. Thuney needs to play LG so LT is still a hole and Trey Smith is a FA and may be too pricey to resign at RG. Stuck with Taylor at RT another year because of his horrible contract. On defense Bolton and Reid are the 2 big names. Hope to draft well, manage the cap, and maybe Brown or Hopkins wants to come back on a deal they can afford.

Hes not going to get into legal trouble over that. He's not a habitual offender, he has money, and if there was any doubt the Chiefs would have given up on him. The question about him is can he consistently be a #1 WR for an entire season. I think we 1. Fix the OL, 2 prepare for life after Kelce, 3. Prepare for life after Chris Jones. Anyone doubting this organization's ability to compensate for losses is a fool.

Kelce is going to go down as one of the all-time great TEs in NFL history, and he's a huge reason Mahomes has had the career he's had. I hope you don't really think it's going to be as easy as drafting another TE who will come in and be the next Travis Kelce.

Who is saying he isn't or that it won't be a loss for the Chiefs? JFC all I'm saying is that 1. The idea that losing a TE is the end of a dynasty is crazy, and 2. Travis Kelce hasn't been an all world right end in 3 years honestly and KC is 2-1 in 3 super bowls. Remember how losing Tyreke was the end? Or losing Snead meant the D was gonna suck? Veech will figure it out.

I would not be surprised if they draft a TE in this draft if 1 falls to them at the right place in the 1st 3 rounds. Gray is not Kelce but he's been thriving in an expanded TE2 role. Jones is only 30 and signed through 2028 so not worried there. They have drafted well so am not worried there. OL is a hard spot to draft or fix in free agency as you either have to hit on a draft pick or pay up to sign an elite guy in free agency.

Congrads to the Chiefs haters, you got your wish,, total blowout,. After saying that, the Chiefs are not going away as long as Mahomes is there.
To the game. give the Eagles credit, their d' line controlled the game, they were the difference. Thought the Chiefs defense really played well, kept Barley well under a 100 yards, and made Hurst beat us, and he did.
Need to improve the offensive line for next season, either draft or find a decent tackle or two. I find it amazing the Eagles have found as many talented players on defense drafting as last has they have. Players line DeJeans have repeatedly fell to them in the late 1st or 2nd round and they have snapped them up. Wish the Chiefs would do the same on the O line.

The good news is the offense hasn't been good in a few years. Now we have to listen to how possibly losing Hopkins or whoever else sucks on offense is the end of the run. JFC #15 is the run. So unless he dies we'll be back again and again. See ya next year and thats guarantee.

Can you do one more post with JFC in it before you go cry yourself to sleep in your chiefs pajamas?

We found out that Mahomes played terrible. He choked. He had a couple interceptions overturned so it could have been worse. In the previous two SB wins he lucked out with narrow wins. Mahomes could be looking at three SB losses in a row. And he can’t carry a team by himself since he did not do it last night. Mahomes Mountain has erupted.

I think that we found out if you put consistent pressure on him, he’ll screw up. Tampa did that a few years ago in the SB and Philly did the same. No QB can flat out carry a team without help. Seems like a lot of people are fine with giving QBs a pass when they’re getting hit all day…except Purdy for some reason.

I couldn’t care less about NFL football. And no - not a Vikings fan.

My life is more than fine. Funny you should say that because you’re obviously in a terrible state of despair over a football game right now.
If you don’t care one but about NFL football, why are you posting in the threads?

I always love it when someone says they don’t care about such and such and then get involved heavily in conversations about it.

Game was over in the 2nd quarter. Chiefs D played well but got no help from O possessions. Chiefs have Humphrey & Thone and then a mess on the O line. They got thru the season by Andy/Mahomes pulling rabbits out of the hat but ran out of tricks when Siranni unleashed pressure with just 4 down linemen. Unless the Chiefs’ GM rebuilds the O line flaws, they were exposed this year. Kelsey has lost more than one step and the RB’s are not SB level either. Still good enough to make the play offs but Chiefs need a roster reset.

The talk of Mahomes being the best ever was premature, but it is clear the Philly roster was much better. Several teams had better rosters than KC. The eagles probably score 60 with Mahomes at QB with Smith, Brown, Barkley, and that OL

And with the pressure the Eagles defense was getting, Hurts probably does just as well for the Chiefs, with Reid using him as a runner to slow up the rush

Lol, Kelce was AP in 2022 and just had 97 receptions this year and was selected to the Pro-Bowl once again. The only thing down are his Tds but that's more a function of their entire offense not being as good.

He's still a top 5 TE, I'd put him right behind Bowers and Mcbride right now and probably in the Kittle range.

Probably a billion people watch the Super Bowl and causally follow the NFL. I don’t have a team that I cheer for like I do with college. It’s really simple.
