2025-2026 Recruiting

The way I look at it. These are high school juniors and with free transfer rules, I am not even sure what a letter of intent means. So much will happen before these kids will step on the mat at any of these schools. I am not even sure what are needs are in 2 years much less 3 years (assuming they redshirt)
Exactly.

On the other hand, this is most kids' best/only chance to make this much money in their entire lives in or out of wrestling. I hate the system, but I can't blame a high school junior for committing to a school that promises a 7 figure payday. Heck, I'm still waiting for mine!

I don't like where this is going for the sport or for most schools including ISU.

And if they learn how to invest even a fraction of it at this early age, then it’s transformative wealth in the long run. But I’m guessing most 18 year olds don’t think like that these days.

NLI is going away isn’t it? Don’t they plan to sign contracts now with the NIL money?

Bassett family could move the whole bishop team to Rutgers U and they’d all be immediate starters. Makes sense to just overhaul the existing roster with that high school team
In the past 40 years, Rutgers has had 12 different All Americans for a total of 18 AA honors. With Bo and his high school team taking over that roster they’d break that number in 2 seasons. Rutgers has been pretty pathetic for being a powerhouse wrestling state

No idea. There is suppose to be an accounting firm looking at any NIL deal & making sure they aren’t pay to play. I also thought if they sign with the school, the university has control of the NIL deals. Not sure how any of these will get cleared

If it is true I’ll just say it I hope Bo has a healthy college career ends up all American a few times but never wins a title.

Rutgers is my guess. Thankful the ISU coaching staff looks at the bigger picture and team players.

**bet he actually graduates from Rutgers**

You’re kidding yourself here. I hope he doesn’t end up at Iowa but if he does, I hope he drives wedges in that program. But he’s still a 1000% take.

Oklahoma state why. Yonger is a way better training partner. And they are probably going to get that Merrill recruit at HWT or Mocco. Makes absolutely no sense. Wow so dumb. Kick right to the nuts

But not as much as you’re kidding yourself. He’s a better training partner than David Taylor? To say nothing of Wyatt Hendrickson?

Please. lol

Nit picking here, but he's not going to have Wyatt Hendrickson as a training partner unless he plans on spending some time on a US Air Force base lol. Hendrickson got an exemption to use this year at Ok State and then he's going to be right back into a military career.

What are you even talking about? Yonger is a way better training partner. Dreshaun fit was way better here but whatever.

He actually got an additional 3 yrs for Olympics so he will most likely be in Stillwater for the next 3.5 years

I love Yonger, but DreShaun is going to have David freaking Taylor as his head coach and in the room for upperweights. That’s not taking anything away from Yonger, that’s better than basically any other program can offer other than PSU.

Not to mention, whatever transfer heavy they get for this next year (or Merrill). But maybe they plan to just roll with Doucet.

So who would you rather roll with Connor Doucet or Yonger Basitida? It’s whatever it’s over. He can have David Freaking Taylor. I’ll take Kevin FÚCKEN Dresser ;)

This is the first time I’ve heard this. Then at the age of 28 or 29 he’s going to go active duty for the first time? That’s going to make life challenging if he decides he wants a family.
