2025-2026 Recruiting

Just because these guys committed doesn’t mean they will end up wrestling there. We got Chittum two years ago and Carrol last year, two guys that were blue chips and never wrestled for their first colleges.

Obviously Carrol doesn’t look like it’s going to work out that well but these blue chip guys get to college and don’t get what was promised either from a coaching, culture, or cash perspective. We can still land one or two of these guys even after they commit.

Nit picking here, but he's not going to have Wyatt Hendrickson as a training partner unless he plans on spending some time on a US Air Force base lol. Hendrickson got an exemption to use this year at Ok State and then he's going to be right back into a military career.

He’s not.

What are you even talking about? Yonger is a way better training partner. Dreshaun fit was way better here but whatever.

Hendrickson a two time (so far) 3rd place HWT finisher. Yonger is an injury prone zero time HWT placer. And on top of that, let me tell you about this David Taylor guy.

ISU wrestling recruiting will be very similar to ISU football and bball as the NIL world continues to evolve. Find the right fit for the team and the culture, and continue bringing in a good balance of HS kids and transfers. Don't panic, and trust the process ;)

This is the first time I’ve heard this. Then at the age of 28 or 29 he’s going to go active duty for the first time? That’s going to make life challenging if he decides he wants a family.
I asked a buddy who's currently active duty in the AF. There is some wild stuff that goes on who professional sports careers (broadly putting wrestling in that). There are rules they make you follow. And then there are exceptions for every one of those rules you can apply for. It's weird.

Where the heck did I ever say this? WTF?
Well Hendrickson isn’t going to be in the room because he’s active duty when he is done. So tell me again where they have a better HWT training situation than Iowa state? Think before you post.

Hendrickson will be there training for the 2028 Olympics. Has it worked out to do that before going back to the AF.

I would think for whatever good Wyatt would do in active duty, he’s easily doing 10x that by bringing attention to the military with interviews on ESPN and potentially making an Olympic team.

You are just making stuff up at this point.

The OSU training situation in the upper weights is just simply better than 95% of the country.

It’s ‘ok’ to admit that.
I’m not talking all upper weights I’m just talking HWT. What am I making up? I’m saying Yonger Bastida is one of the best HWT training partners in the country. Is that not a fact?

Anyone see the posts on the Facebook wrestling groups? Seen it twice now, according to those graphics, he's head to Iowa Sh!tty

Frack. Was really holding out hope for Rutgers. Oh well. Those first two would suck more than the third which is just par for the course at this point.
Ditto on Rutgers

at this point is this a $ thing and the highest bidder will reap the spoils of what should be an illustrious college career

I mean if Iowa handed teemer 500k for 1 yr

what are we looking at $750k per for 5 ?
