Milan Rumors - Hand Injury

I know he has 0 offensive game, but man it's fun having them out there to trap and disrupt with his length.

He can't create for himself... or dribble much... and has no outside shot... eek.

...but he's a good cutter and finisher. And we've got sharp passers like Lipsey, Gilbert, and JJ around him.

He's not going to pop off from three like Momcilovic, but he can punish you if you ignore him.

Still a downgrade, but we've had more hopeless offensive players out there before.

During the Tech game I was thinking that we were fortunate that we don't have any injuries. So, if I jinxed us, sorry. I agree with some prior posts that this team is very deep and it may not be that much of a drop off as one might think. I would be more bummed if it was Jones that was injured. I don't think we have anyone that could replace his scoring.
There’s no such thing as jinxes.

If true, I think Nojus and/or Watson definitely get minutes. Given the early season distribution, you would first think Nojus would get the call before Watson. The possible issue with that is that it would mean that most or nearly all of Heise's minutes would be coming at the 4 as Jefferson's backup. Heise plays a lot bigger than he is, and he rebounds well. But at least against opponents with a longer, more traditional 4, I would think they'd get Watson in some, so Heise doesn't get too worn down getting beat up in the post.

Crazy to think, downgrade offensively this year, yes without a doubt. He will probably be the 4th or 5th option on the court most of the time. But if on the 22-23 roster, he’s probably the best offensive player on the team.

Edit: Bad quote. This was about Heise.

I don't disagree with anything you said. Just calling you dumb for jinxing us.

Not sure why people are focusing on Watson as a replacement. Nojus is a more approximate replacement for the things we rely on Milan for, and Watson makes it feel like a 4 on 5 game offensively.
I'm fine with whatever the coaching staff thinks we need, but it's not like it's a no brainer here. Watson has more experience in games like this and has way more experience in our defensive system. Do people forget he was MVP for a Big XII game last year? We could very well have lost to OU if he doesn't step up.

I'm a bit concerned that the coaching staff will know how to handle this. :jimlad:

Like clockwork....There is a reason posters don't bring this up. And technically I guess you didn't.
And yes I believe in Karma ;-)

Defensively he would be an upgrade IMO

If early season playing time was any indication on how things would play out if Milan is out, I'd imagine Nojus was going to get the majority of leftover minutes. Watson didn't even get time in blowout games until the 1min mark.
