2025 Athletics Update

It’s the same people complaining about prices that are complaining about the coaching and players on the field.

News flash: they are directly correlated and even more so starting in July.
Nope, no complaints from me on players and coaches. You are wrong.

I did this year, because I could not justify the cost anymore.

Gold level, section 5.

Could buy tickets on the secondary market in similar seats for far less than my season tickets and donation requirement.
Then why are you complaining if you don’t have tickets?

How about you show some breakdowns that show you are right, I have posted several that show I am.

The only one sharing opinions with nothing to back it up is.... You!
Did u see the Google url?

because I would like to have them again, just cant justify the cost when I pencil it out. And this increase is just going to make that worse.
Did you think they would get cheaper? If they were too expensive this year, they would continue to be too expensive.

Did you actually add any of those up? did you see my calculations? How about my images of the same thing, that came from the actual KSU page, not google?

Try adding them up, then try comparing them to tickets and donor levels at similar locations here. Like I did and have previously.

The image you posted only proves I was right when you do the math. But you didnt.

I don’t like it, but we are near last, or last, in donations. We either need to start donating better or have more expensive tickets.

Agree, but we are in the top third in total revenue in the Big 12. So donations might be lower than our peers but our total revenue is above average. I’ll continue to pay whatever until I feel we aren’t getting value from buying our 6 tickets.

There has been this weird “we are poor” narrative that just isn’t true.

I’m fine with them raising ticket prices to offset this new $20 million expense but it’s comical because these schools have spent themselves into this problem (not just ISU…all schools). It’s a broken system.

No, but they were already too expensive, I didnt expect them to get more expensive.

I compared a lot of places, we were right at or near the top of all of them. In a location where the cost of living is supposed to be far cheaper.

I expected others to increase to be close to us, not us to further distance ourselves out front.

Seriously, buying tickets in sections similar to what I had for $80 or less per, takes a lot of tickets to equal what I was paying in donations and tickets, and I can miss one without feeling I am pissing away money.

If they start beer sales at Jack trice then they will also stop letting people leave and come back in. I can see more peope being mad at that than are mad now that beer isn’t being sold in the stadium.
This is a fair point. It would be interesting to see a poll half-time re-entry vs beer sales. Personally don’t care either way since I’m not buying stadium beer. I have gone out at halftime before with a group tailgating near the south entrance. Don’t get the people that go out and hike a long ways back to their vehicle and miss part of the 2nd half.

There's no reason to think this is connected at all. Just something repeated by those who hate letting people leave and come back

Letting people go out and back in has nothing to do with beer sales at all.

If you are going off the one year that had us near the top of the big 12, it was one of the few years we were there and was a year that we did some bigger fundraising for capital projects. It’s why you have to go by the club fundraising which is when you see those numbers we are near the bottom.

This is the huge point that's not getting enough attention.

We had season tickets in 2021 but dropped them for the next season after realizing it was far more economical to pick and choose the games we wanted to attend via the secondary market, especially since that saved us costly/time consuming trips to Ames for games we didn't care that much about attending.

The more expensive it is to buy season tickets (and be Cyclone Club members) the more people will do this, and tickets weren't exactly insabely in demand this year when we won 10 games.

Raising costs at all, regardless of how ours compare to other Big XII schools, is risky business.

I guess u can't read what their tickets cost and what ours cost.

I guess you cant.

You want to calculate their costs with donation.

But dont want to include our donation requirement for the same tickets.

Figure it out bud.

Absolutely is risky.

What's the alternative?

Our lower end tickets (both uppers and lowers) don't require a donation.
