I will really miss him for selection Sunday’s and March madness going forward. I know he missed last years as well.

Greg Gumbel is a good dude. March Madness will never be the same.
Selection Sunday will never be the same. He will be greatly missed.
You know how you can tell Gumbel was an all time great... there was no reason to dislike him. You could never tell what side he was rooting for in any contest... just the facts.

What I appreciated Gumbel most was he wasn’t about himself. There are a lot of sport broadcasters who want to draw attention to themselves. Rather, he wanted to give attention to the players

My dad played baseball w him 1 year at Loras. GG was a senior when dad was a freshman. Dad said great guy.
GG nickname at Loras was "Zoozzles". No idea wtf it means.
