I got new Bridgestone tires back in 2022 for a suv and was notified that I should start lookin into getting new tires soon. I maybe put 12,000 miles a year on my vehicle and am looking to get tires that can last more than 20,000-30,000 miles. Any recommendations would be appreciated. TIA.

Check with @isufbcurt. He probably has some good used tires laying around...;)

I am not a car guy but we’ve used Costco the last two times. Have not driven on them long enough to have an opinion.

However, Costco was 25% cheaper than my mechanic quoted me.

Brutal. I just put Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractives on my Highlander, replacing the stock tires that lasted right around 30k miles. Started my search using TireRack and wound up going through DiscountTire since they're a local installer for them anyway. No idea how long they'll last, but no complaints from the last month or so

Edit: Warranty is 6 years / 60k treadwear

I believe Discount Tire owns Tire Rack.

I'd shop a little on Tire Rack according to your tire size and vehicle type. Look at ratings and reviews.

I'm pretty partial and happy with Michelin in general.

I bought Defender LTX for my pickup and CrossClimate for my wife's small SUV. No complaints, pretty good traction in rain/snow/ice so far and QUIET which is an underrated characteristic for me personally.

I found a local shop with a good reputation and they pretty much beat any general price you can get anywhere else. I wouldn't necessarily trust Discount Tire installation if you have an alternative.

If you have a membership at Costco or Sam's Club and can get the same tires you want there, it will usually be cheaper at installation as their policy/warranty deals and free rotation/service can be an advantage if you are willing to take it there for those appointments.

Correct. I just used Discount myself a few weeks ago to put on some Yokohamas. They replaced a previous set of Yokohamas that I'm pretty sure had 45-50K miles on them and still had a few thousand to go yet. Replaced them moreso on age, less on mileage need.

I have had great luck with Michelin Defender LTX on SUVs in the past. Great wear and all around good tire for all conditions. May be a bit pricier than some others, but I don't like to skimp on Tires and Batteries. I have had great luck with tires from Costco or Sams Club. Many times there are deals where there are rebates or Buy 3, get 1 free on tires too.

I am also running Michelin Defender LTX on my wife's SUV. So far I have 60k on them and they are doing great tire so far. You get what you pay for on tires.

It's been 2-3 years since I've bought tires but I've found Tire Rack is a great research tool. Once you have a tire brand and model narrowed down then you can price shop anywhere.

Well obviously not Bridgestone if you only got 25k off the last ones......
Check out some Cooper's. Michelin, BF goodrich, and several of the Continental ones are good.

I bought some Goodyears through my repair shop. Total crap. I have 30k on them and they already need replacing. For my wife's car I found some Pirelli's at Sam's and have been really happy with them. So very quiet!

I worked in the tire business for a bit and Costco is my go to. All of their tires fall into the premier category and their prices can't be beat. Sta away from Sam's club, the tires made for Wal-Mart are junk.
Which would those be? The one's I got via Sam's I researched on Tirerack and had good reviews. They weren't Wally World Specials.

I run Goodyears on everything. Put 'em on and they'll run 50,000 miles with nothing but rotations.
Don’t think I’ve bought anything but Goodyear tires for 30 years. Father-in-law was a tire engineer and a Goodyear retiree.

Sam's stocks and sells mainly the same high end products as Costco, not the cheap chinesium that Wal-Mart stores have for pennies.

That said, I don't really see a reason to buy at Sam's over Costco since Costco's care policy is included and seems to be a better deal. I cross-shopped a ton of these before going with Discount Tire for a different option not available at Costco...and also so Discount could do the alignment for us, which warehouses will not do.

Pro tip: you can get quotes from Costco/Sam's/wherever and take them to Discount and they'll try to match.
