YTTV price increase

If I could get all my local channels over the air I'd cancel YTTV and have MAX and the Disney, Hulu, ESPN+ bundle but for whatever reason I lose the signal for half of my locals at night. I just want to be able to watch the 10PM news live other than that I just stream stuff.

As long as all users have similar zip codes it’s fine. I’m in Ames and split with someone in DM and it’s been fine but when I tried to split with someone in Cedar Rapids it shut one of us down after a few months

I share with my son in Iowa City. There is a conflict with the service because we/you are outside of their local channels viewing area. Every few months my son renews our location and then we are able to continue sharing. Could be the trouble you are speaking of.

I'm tapping out. I can get cable from my HOA and they have said they have streaming services on phones for people who want to use it while traveling.

I watch a few hours a week (almost all games) and that's it. If the cycle of never-ending greed of bundling and making people pay for channels they don't want and price increases, were to break I'd pay for the convenience. But I'll be inconvenienced and figure out ways to spend as little as possible because I'm tired of it.

They are asking for almost a 15% increase on top of all the other increases over the past few years.

I have it from Football-March Madness. Don’t use it in the summer, so it saves me a bunch instead of paying for any of the others. It is what it is as far as price. I suppose if it gets too expensive, there’s always radio.

I only pay for YTTV when football and basketball are on. Right now I have it paused to save money. Honestly the pirate feeds are so good I don't really need it anymore.

If you sign up for 4k you can have unlimited streams at home and three streams outside your home. We did it so kids at college could use our account. They had a special where it was free for a month and then $4.99/mo for a year.
Yeah I do this for my parents in Florida so they can watch Sunday ticket, redzone and BTN. Although my dad did comment that watching the bears might be me trying to push him to an early grave so maybe it isn’t the nice thing I thought it was lol

It would be interesting to rank industries based on how hated they are by the general public.

The health insurance industry would probably get the #1 ranking (as demonstrated by recent events). Not sure where the cable/streaming industry would rank, but it would definitely be closer to the top than the bottom.

I think cable and streaming would need to be separate in that scenario.

Nobody likes telecoms, but the price of cable is the firstest of first world problems

Annoying. Just switched back from Hulu+ live tv because I like the YTTV interface better, particularly for recording stuff. Probably going to do some shopping because we have a crazy amount of streaming services and might not be using YTTV enough to justify it.
More choices of who is going to bend you over with subscription fees now.

Used to be just cable or dish and whether to add HBO. Now there are a dozen HBO's. If you want to catch ALL of show folks are talking about you end up with a ton-o-subscriptions on top of whatever you have for basic channels.

I see a 10% price drop opportunity then.

seriously, someone make a streaming service and you select the 5 channels you'd like (more if you please)...

call it Picket...... gain subs until being acquired by google or someshit.
