***OFFICIAL CFP Rankings Show Watch Thread***

Why do you think Texas is elite? Sure they looked good, but the quality of the teams they played this year was bad. aTm is average and they had trouble with them. Georgia was the only good team they played and lost twice to them.
They aren’t “elite” elite but compared to an ASU the talent disparity is a borderline insurmountable gulf. Talent can be held back with bad coaching/schemes but in the playoff that’s usually not an issue.

Saban is such a doosh. Yeah, there are benefits to playing really good teams. It means you're in the SEC and making gobs and gobs and gobs of money as a program and university and the reason you were able to be paid gazillions as their HC. So, there's that.

Oh, and not losing to the crappy teams on your schedule would help too.

Alabama’s “really good“ schedule included fewer P4 teams than anyone in the Big XII. Their top non-conference opponent was Wisconsin (who went 5-7 and lost their last five games). Their other opponents included Western Kentucky, South Florida, and Mercer (and Bama went up in the CFP rankings after they beat Mercer, which is just as much of a joke as the committee artificially keeping Boise State too high).

If the only measurement of “really good” is your conference opponents, then maybe do better than 1-2 against conference teams that won 6 games or fewer.

Texas is a very good team, but their QB play is what will determine how far they go. Their defense, WRs and RB are all top rate, but neither QB has played well most of the season.

SEC should just secede and have their own playoff. They're never going to be happy - they clearly view themselves as head and shoulders above everyone else.

Whining about Alabama not getting in is absolutely absurd.

SMU wins and they’re in at 9-3 with losses to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.

Beat one of Vanderbilt or OU and they’re in at 10-2.

Lose to Georgia and beat Vandy and OU and they’re in at 10-2 with home wins over SC and Mizzou as their only “impressive” wins.

They had every possible advantage to make the playoff. They squandered that generous opportunity.

It all depends on when you lose, which is garbage, if ND loses to NIU week 10 but since they lost week 1 or 2 they had the whole year to repair that image. BYU lost 2 at the end, so they had no time to recover.

Polls are the worst.

Notre Dame would run for 300 yds on BYU. BYU almost lost to Houston last week.

Good luck with that. Isolating your viewership to one region of the country. And one of the poorer regions at that

Have you watched either team? Or do you just watch Mich State and ISU games? Not serious teams? Seriously?
Did you watch Indiana gets obliterated by OSU? Or struggle with an incredibly down Michigan? They just don’t have the talent to compete at the highest level.

Notre dame loses to G5 teams on a regale basis under freeman, they also get trucked every time they play an SEC team in the playoffs.

So yeah. Not serious teams when it comes to competing for a natty

Nick Saban should just shut up. He’s not helping Bama or the SEC. On second thought…..

Kinda funny that a former Big 12 team kept bama out of the playoffs.

How does it feel OU that you move to the SEC and are now deemed to be a “bad loss”?
