***OFFICIAL CFP Rankings Show Watch Thread***

I feel like you are looking at it wrong. They didn’t move up, we played so poorly we dropped. It’s not like we had a head to head with them or something.

They were just on the wrong side of the conference schedule win percentages. I have 0 problem with a team we tied with on all accounts being ranked ahead of us after that beat down we took yesterday.

The beat a playoff team on the road that has the same 2 losses, byu might have best argument as team that was snubbed.

That's cool to see the Big 12 champ get a bye.

I wish it started next weekend.

I suppose with Army/Navy the season isn't technically over.

They dug their own grave, but being ahead of ISU is not some travesty. We have fans looking for something to feel slighted about, per usual.

Honestly they didn’t do a horrible job, they just need to clarify criteria more and embrace some sort of metric as a tool.

There are about five teams, yes including Alabama, that are just as worthy as SMU. Explaining how BYU is five spots worse than SMU is the toughest question one could ask the committee.

I don’t think they punished ISU for CCG loss, just natural BYU and acc champ Clemson should have moved up.
The whole point of expansion, other that $$$, is to make sure worthy national champ contenders aren’t left out. There were plenty of years where the 5th or 6th teams were just as worthy as 3rd or 4th, but were left on the outside looking in.

With 12 teams, I can say with certainty, the best the in the country is included and has a chance to win the natty. Teams in a lower tier than the true contenders are just also rans and can **** off with their tears.

Who has Texas played well against that makes you think that?

Texas is like a lot of these teams: they're really good, but not scary and ASU has two weeks to get more work for their 'new' receivers that imo are talented.

That needs to change immediately given a couple weeks ago the committee thought American team was better than three of four big 12 1st place teams.

If Boise wasn’t great this year that Army game happening after selection would’ve been total chaos for MWC and AAC.

Yes. And Skattabo is the real deal. Best RB we saw all year and I don’t know if it’s close. He should be an NFL guy.

ASU doesn’t really have depth, they went 3-9 last year and 1-9 the year before. They got a great transfer QB (still annoyed but understand that one) but the depth isn’t there to replace talent like that, even more so when playing top tier teams

Yeah but again, Kansas went Rambo on the conference. Kinda nuked everything

Still blind resume anybody would put byu in over SMU unless we make a blanket statement that all ccg teams > all non ccg teams.

I’m not outraged about it, just a fact a lot of teams including byu make just as much sense at #11.

Saban is such a doosh. Yeah, there are benefits to playing really good teams. It means you're in the SEC and making gobs and gobs and gobs of money as a program and university and the reason you were able to be paid gazillions as their HC. So, there's that.

Oh, and not losing to the crappy teams on your schedule would help too.

I'm not saying they'll replace the guy; I just thought their receivers yesterday had some good skills and two more weeks practicing in a bigger role may help.

Why do you think Texas is elite? Sure they looked good, but the quality of the teams they played this year was bad. aTm is average and they had trouble with them. Georgia was the only good team they played and lost twice to them.

He wants the SEC and Big 10 to lean on the bogus preseason rankings to get them into the playoff.

It all depends on when you lose, which is garbage, if ND loses to NIU week 10 but since they lost week 1 or 2 they had the whole year to repair that image. BYU lost 2 at the end, so they had no time to recover.

Polls are the worst.

The last at large teams are always going to have issues.

The hopeful improvement is you aren’t leaving out teams like when Urban Meyer’s Utah team blew out all 13 teams they played including Alabama. You aren’t leaving out 2014 TCU that was the best team in college football.

If you did a blind resume of SMU and several other teams SMU is gonna be about the same, they’d be lacking in good wi s and BYU’s resume would look similar plus a head to head home win. Alabama and SC would have far better wins too.
