Asking again: Has the rot started to set in?

Has the rot started to creep in?

Just post it. Then post how many Big 12 titles we have in that span. Heck, just post title game appearances if it makes you feel better.

Were you expecting Big 12 Championships and title game appearances during that span?

OU would be the clear front runner and Texas was largely not very good until last year.

What is your end game with assuming there's rot within the program?

Not sure what the end game is, but it’s not wild to acknowledge that we are also stuck. We are just a little worse of a Kirk Ferentz at Iowa version and likely just have to live with it. I’m just glad we have a much much better situation with the basketball program and TJ. The sky is really the limit there.

“Stuck” is the best start thru 10 games this school has ever had. Line me up for being stuck every year

We play in a G5 conference now in football. Keep up.

Also, this is our ceiling. It won’t get any better than this. Easiest schedule we could face, dodged the 3 best teams in the Big 12, and returned almost every single starter from last year. This is as good as it gets. Hopefully we get to hand the “we’re 8-2 banner”

Alright @Gunnerclone texas was behind us in wins, OU obviously ahead. Is 2nd most B12 wins rot? Can you put a negative spin on this one?
They weren't in that timeframe, I left this year out since Texas isn't Big XII anymore. 39 for Texas and 36 for Iowa State from 2017-2023.

Why don’t you go root for a P2 team? We are not going to be in the B10 or SEC I’m afraid to tell you. That’s not going to change my brother

To be fair the rest of the conferences look like G5 schools right now with exception to their top 2-3 teams. The entire old B1G west would fit in just fine with the current Big 12 but they had the marketing for decades so it won't get talked about.

College football imo is just not very good on the whole right now, similarly to basketball.

ISU isn't a juggernaut and I'm not sure who would come in to create that; it's a decision on keeping things at least steady. I'm not sure if it's a good time to get a Music Man type in there to collect a check for two years while hollowing out the program.

If you think that this group of “fans” won’t turn on T.J. the minute that adversity hits you are sorely mistaken.

Plenty of people discredited him for making NCAA tournaments fresh off the bottoming out of the program so this is pretty spot on imo.

I think ISU bb will be good but will have a bumpier season than many think and this place will be wild over the next 2-3 months.

Our expectations should just be raised a bit. Winning 8 now is not the same as 2017
Do we get to raise expectations on donations as well? We have an NIL that is in the middle of the conference. A head fb coach and men’s basketball coach that are paid in the lower half of the conference and yet we expect a top 2-3 finish in both. There appears to be a bit of disconnect from my standpoint.
