With the Polk County burn van, dows that mean I can't do a fire on my solo stove on my back deck?
Solo Stove would technically fall under the "outdoor fireplace" as it's not open burning. Up to you to decide if a good idea and what risk you and neighbors are willing to take on.

Can I use a burn pit or burn trash when there is a burn ban in my county?
A burn ban does not prohibit the following:
supervised, controlled burn for which a permit has been issued by the fire chief of the fire district where the burn will take place, the use of outdoor fireplaces, barbecue grills, properly supervised landfills, or the burning of trash in incinerators or trash burners made of metal, concrete, masonry, or heavy one-inch wire mesh, with no openings greater than one square inch.

I'd figure up on my deck its more likely my wood deck would burn down than I cause a historic fire in the neighborhood.

I just really want to light the fire and watch Brock do his magic outside tonight.

Just so you know, the poster here removed the image within about 4 minutes of you posting your request.
In spite of her abrupt, uh, introduction, the gal has a banger gallery on her web site. Weather and more...

Are you really trying to control the spread of a photo on the internet? I like exercises in futility too, but wowza on that one.
Copyright exists regardless of whether one thinks it’s simply an exercise in futility. As we teach kids, if you want to use something that’s not yours, ask permission to use it before you do.

Looked at the US map. Almost all of the 48 states covered in drought other than Florida, Georgia, and Carolinas.

Many places in Iowa will hit 2 months without a drop of rain.
The Boone River is lower now than it was a year ago. I didn’t think that was possible.

Somebody stole her image, removed her copyright signature and had a TV station giving photo credit to the guy that stole it. So, yeah, I get why she was mad. I assume an image search lead her here. It was posted innocently here via the internet spread of the guy who originally stole it. The member here who posted it quickly removed it, as I'd expect a responsible person to, and was no need for mods to do it. To add insult to injury the image was misrepresented as being Hurricane Milton.

FYI, think I got caught into this even though I am just a self-described "hack amateur hobbyist", aka HAH. I shared an owl picture with a someone who in turn was supposed to give me some print copies in return. And never heard from them again once they got my image with the copyright removed. I didn't think it was an image worth stealing so haven't followed up. Than again, my living isn't photography.

In this case our CF poster's use was pretty innocent. The guy that stole it and removed the copyright signature was "patient zero" and started the unsanctioned use.

The flipside is Getty claiming images in public domain, US Government images in particular, as theirs to claim ownership to sell. It's gone so far as to essentially kill the old Google image search to protect their corporate level image stealing. I've posted some photos my dad took in WWII and I fully expect them to show up for sale by someone.

Yep. You are correct. It doesn't change my point at all, but you are correct.

Sounds like great due diligence by that TV station.

It sucks that the image was stole and cropped. Unfortunately, that is what the internet does. Trying to beat the speed and which people copy and paste is pretty challenging. Best of luck to anyone trying to enforce a copyright on the internet.

Looks like we're struggling to get moisture to return ahead of the cold front on Saturday. Trending drier. Fingers crossed.
