I

I feel that this game will be close and might be a situation where we'll need either of these scenarios to win.

I recall early in his tenure Campbell saying it was important to him that he build a defense that he trusts can finish games.

I believe, philosophically and schematically, this program is built to have the defense be the last group on the field.

Give me the defense to close out the game.

Give me the defense. Assuming ISU is up, WVU wont be able to run the ball therefore unable to play into their biggest strength.

Honestly though, the WVU defense is also bad, so i can make a case for taking the offense too. Which is why im not super concerned about this game

Honestly, I would need to know the score before answering that question. If it's in the 30s for both teams, I'm definitely going to say, be behind and give it to our offense. If it's in the teens or below for both teams, give me the lead and a stop. Anywhere in between that, honestly, I think we have as good a shot with either squad out there. It's a hard decision to make though, not because I don't trust either, but more-so, the way this team as a whole improves as the game goes on, it's tough to choose.

I forget what the stat was they said last week, but it was about points allowed in the 2nd half so far and it was a pretty impressive stat, so if gun to my head, I'd take the D and a stop.

Well I can say I'm surprised by the result so far. I would predict it opposite what the results are currently.

Going with defense because it's the better unit, and you almost always want to be ahead. And that's how we always win. When's the last time we scored a last possession TD? 2020 vs Texas is the closest I can think of, but the D still had to hold them to a long missed FG.

I'm no mathematician, but the likelihood of winning would be significantly higher if we were ahead and on defense. So, let The Professor cook.

Iowa basically

GG is fantastic running the 2 minute offense, so the obvious pick is you want the ball against a 2ndary Pitt torched for long throw after long throw. Not to mention the huge cushion the corners give, which is a free 7 yards for the patient.

I like our offensive matchup versus their defense, however our defense is more battle-tested in high pressure situations. Then, when you figure in fluky stuff like a muffed snap, tipped pass, offensive slip, I'm letting Heacock bring it home.
