*** Official IOWA STATE vs #21 Iowa Game(Day) Thread ***

We returned how much production from last year but Campbell still thinks we played "young." Dude.

Not advocating for us to move on from Campbell by any means but I think we can be realistic and admit he has limitations right? The floor has been significantly raised, but we’ll never be better than 7-5, 8-4.
Why not advocate for it?

Absent the KSU miracle in the snow, wouldn't you be leaning more that way?

Did you like the bowl game? Any of them?

As an Iowa fan I’m not feeling good about the points they left on the field. Feels like it should be 21-0. Have a feeling this first second half drive is huge for ISU and could decide the game.
Didn't have to wait long...

I can’t wait for Kohl to transfer to Iowa and then beat us every single year

Winner winner. Rocco has been really bad today. All these posts about opening it up and throwing it deep. Rocco is missing open receivers and probably should have another 1-2 ints. Iowa is baiting **** out of him. The pick 6 is inevitable.
First - Kohl isn’t good. That’s why he’s 3rd string. And yeah, he’d fit in at Iowa.

Regarding Rocco. Yes he’s been bad. The play calling is doing him no favors. It’s actually making the game impossible for him. There really aren’t many open receivers, because our route concepts are not challenging the holes that exist in Iowa’s defense. The flag/backside seam to Higgins on that last drive is a great example. THOSE routes challenge Iowa. It’s not at all about “going deep”. It’s literally about NOT scheming into Iowa’s strength. And because we’re doing just that - repeatedly scheming directly into Iowa’s strength - the chances for Rocco to get any sort of rhythm is basically impossible.

Edit: As I type that - 2nd play or the 2nd half, another terrible, terrible play call. And the 3rd play call, we run a short out! What in the literal f*ck!
