im probably overthinking this but looking for opinions

my family and my in-laws each have A3 passes. 2 total passes
looking more likely we will not have grass to tailgate on come Saturday

are we jerks if we put truck in 1 spot and tent in other?
using 1 parking spot per pass

It will certainly look like you are being a jerk... but I would assume if you can prove you have 2 passes, then the other folks really can't whine too much. Assuming you are only using 1 of the 2 cars.

From the Cyclones.com site explaining parking policies:

The use of a parking space for other reasons, such as portable grills, games tents, chairs, etc. is not permitted in non-reserved areas. For reserved parking lots, a parking space used for other reasons is only permitted if a parking pass is presented for specific space not used for vehicle.
So no, you are not being jerks. We used to do that when a large group of us used to tailgate together. We always used two of the passes for our tents/tailgate area. Luckily, this was back before the electronic tickets/passes, so we would just pin our parking passes to the tents.

im interpreting "non reserved" as the public lots (brown)

I'm going to add. You might want to have them scan both passes as you enter. That way it's in the system. Also, print out both passes (is that even possible anymore) and have the one on the tent and the other in the window of the truck.

And to @Messi, yes, the brown are not "reserved" but the grass lots usually don't have the issue of no place to put your tailgate either as they usually leave you space on one end of your vehicle to set up and still allow for traffic flow.

f*ck em' you paid for 2 and use it how you like.

the only issue i would see is someone could just claim you set up there parked your other car elsewhere in the lot and are abusing it. but again f*ck em.

only you know the truth!

Not the a-hole, assuming you're actually not using both passes to park cars and just saying you're not. Which would be impossible to prove in digital pass world, and makes this seem less than likely to go off without a hitch. I'm guessing parking staff won't allow it, if they're paying attention and/or somebody complains.

Good luck!

im halfway considering putting a sign in windshield
"yes, we paid for 2 parking passes"

lol
I actually think this is a great idea and also really considerate.

Considering you have two passes, no one should be upset at you for it. But no one will know that unless you tell them. Putting up a sign will be better for everyone.
