Has anyone heard any update on a Rice suspension? It may have been already out there, but I can't remember. He had a good year last year and seems to have good chemistry with Mahomes so missing will hurt.
I would guess they let him play until the legal proceedings are done. I believe his court date is sometime in December, so he may get to play the regular season and miss the postseason
The KC offense should be the best its every been in the Mahomes era, one of the best Olines in the league, stacked at WR/TE, the only thing missing is a great running back, instead of just very good.
The interior is no doubt one of the best. Still suspect at the tackle spots with mostly unprovens at the LT and Taylor on the right.
I'm guessing his court date gets delayed until after the season as that seems to be how these things have played out lately. It would suck to lose him late in the year if there is any kind of suspension but even if his first hearing is in December I don't see the NFL handing down a suspension until he's been actually convicted of something.
The kid they drafted at LT has looked good in the preseason, RT is average at best. In this era of football in the NFL, every team has weak spots, but the Chief's weak areas are average to above average.
Love it! Keeping him and Trey Smith (pending FA after this season) are going to be key, Thuney is still signed for 2025, hopefully Suamataia or Morris can lock down LT and either Taylor improves at RT or he may be cut after this season when the cap hit is not as bad.
They must have someone on staff that knows what they are doing with the salary cap and contracts as it's crazy how they have been able to give Mahomes Kelce Jones and now Humphrey big deals and still have a roster loaded with talent. They've drafted well in recent years which also helps but eventually those guys have to get paid too and so far they have been able to manage that. Trading Hill when they did instead of paying him the big contract was a smart move. At one point I thought they were going to have to do that with Jones too. They've drafted well enough they were able to let Sneed walk too.
Interesting move, wonder who gets left off the 53 man roster now. Projections were they were going to carry 7 WR: Brown, Rice, Worthy, Watson, Hardman, Moore, Ross. Notice that Toney was not in that projection too, guess he would take Ross's spot?
Wow, I would say that Toney and Moore are both being cut today or tomorrow, or maybe they heard something about what the league is going to do with Rice.
Have to think the writing was on the wall for Moore when they brought back Hardman. I would guess Ross gets a practice squad spot.
Sounds like nothing will be done with Rice until his court date in December
In the latest projection from arrowhead pride, Toney was in and Ross was out. The only thing I dont love about their roster projection is keeping 4 tight ends

By adding Smith-Schuster, the Chiefs could feel more comfortable with carrying just six receivers on their initial 53-man roster.
Before this move, the Chiefs were expected to keep seven receivers — likely having the final two spots going to Skyy Moore and Justyn Ross — to have proper depth at the position following Brown’s sternoclavicular dislocation on the opening snap of the preseason, an injury that could force him to miss the season opener.
This move also all but assures that Kadarius Toney, the former 2021 first-round pick, will not be on the Chiefs’ initial roster.
So either Moore or Ross is going to have to be cut, and then hopefully resigned to the practice squad after clearing waivers.
