Wish this guy who was born and raised in the States would compete for the USA.

He's unreal:

How in the actual f*ck did an event like the pole vault even come about in the first place?

Seriousy...I really do wonder who the first person was who came up with the idea to launch themselves 20 feet off the ground using a pole to push yourself above a bar? Who thinks of that?

How dare you. My ancestors had to pole vault everywhere just to find food.

Well back in the day this was the children's playground equipment. Different times.

most of the track and field (especially the field) events traditionally have military applications. without researching, it's easy to assume pole vaulting has something to do with that.

I had the same line of thinking while watching several unknown persons attempt to enter my castle by vaulting over my moat.

Getting over a moat at a castle? Or over the wall?

Yeah its a bit off to me to just say nah, I don’t want to be on Team USA.

I know it happens but yeah…

There are probably also some athletes who decide that their best bet to get on a team is to go an alternate route.

I thought I heard that Sweden agreed to let him pole vault and use his parents as coaches and I bet the US didn’t allow it?

There doesnt seem to be many examples of china, Russia, France etc having people living, working, voting in their countries and playing for us with dual citizenship. But who knows. Probably because it’s harder I guess
