***WBB: 2025 Recruiting Thread***

Though I don't find Beaty as highly rated, she has been recruited by many named programs, especially in the SE and even Stanford. Beaty continues our successful recruitment of Tennessee's H.S. WBB players. She should pair up nicely with Freya and we could be set at guards for 2025, so off for some 3/4/5s.

Here's a non-paywall older article:

Our local write up…

Check out this article from Des Moines Register:

Iowa State women's basketball: Why Cyclones new 2025 recruit can be the next Emily Ryan

I have had some fun poking at Emily's style of play at times. Truth told, I deeply respect her commitment to and love of Iowa State. She is one of a kind. Well not so fast, I guess, as Reese may be the second coming. Gotta like that.

Thanks for the article.

20 plus offers with numerous SEC and BIG programs actively pursuing her makes her more than a diamond in the rough.
20 plus offers is cool, but the latest tweet I read said she had over 50 division 1 offers after starring in the EYBL circuit.

Reese Beaty might not seem to have much in common athletically with Audi Crooks at first glance, but they do share something notable: state championships in shot put and discus. Reese Beaty is a 2x discus and 3x shot put champion.

Those accomplishments dont seem to scream point guard.

If WBB continues to be officiated the way it has been recently there may be an advantage to having a STRONG PG.
I recall going to Minnesota Lynx game when Lindsay Whalen was still playing and one lady in the audience said that "look at her shoulders ......very strong shoulders that no one can bump her"

Just over two decades ago we had what we called a 5'9" power PG in Lindsey Wilson. She was tough and could drive inside without losing the ball.
We’ve had numerous PGs who could effectively drive. But the game has evolved. Athletes are better than ever. Translating a player from yesteryear to today is a difficult thing.
