EA Sports NCAA Football game

I’ve decided you are all bots sent by EA to get my extra $30. Friday is so far away.

I was with you until I found out I had access to the 10 hour trial with game pass. I never pay for early access, I've done it before and usually life happens and by the normal release date I've only been able to play a couple hours anyways.

Anyone play online themselves yet? Is defense as hard online? How many minute quarters?

What defense is everyone playing? I always did a 4-3 and a 4 man front in the old games so I’m used to that. These new defenses seem tougher to run to me, can’t get with 3 down lineman and all those DBs
I stuck with the 3-3-5 and started out blitzing quite often, but even playing on Varsity the computer was hitting routes in the area my blitzer(s) vacated. I've been playing more with an OLB walked up so it basically looks like a 4-2-5 and blitzing far less often. The Heacock drop 8 has worked decently well on obvious passing situations, but you get the same frustratingly little pass rush a lot of times.

I have a 10 year old here to embarrass me if I need that. I don't need some anonymous 10 year old proving to me that I'm old.
Haha I'm almost a religious online player. Not sure if I'll do anything else. I like to think I'm playing some genius adult when I'm getting run but you're right its probably more like some 12 year old. These kids talk a lot of smack too. I refuse to put the headset on anymore.

I don't even own a headset. I don't need that.

Defense against humans is always easier than the hardest difficulty in the game in my opinion. I’ve found humans are very repetitive in their play selections. They have 3 or 4 they like to run and stick with it making it easier to cheat with assignments. Playing MLB or FS against a human is the way to go but if you do that against a computer and leave an assignment, it will cook you.

If the game allows those repetitive plays to be successful it annoys me. Madden was getting better at the computer defenders recognition of repeated plays recently and you could take some of them away. Hope Ncaa does same. I wonder if it matches people by skill level too as we get going or if it's totally random.

Someone on youtube posted a full simulated CyHawk game. I watched the entire thing. ISU got a TD with under a minute and won 31-27. Noel had 13 catches, 224 (?) yards and 4 TDs. Rocco threw for 440 yards.

I noticed that INTs might be hard to come by in the game. Iowa dropped a bunch of them and Caleb Bacon dropped one.
Usually INTs/Drops is relative to selected difficulty. Higher diff translates to more AI catches. I'd wonder what diff the sim was ran on.

On defense, I almost exclusively play DL so I don't screw up any of the coverage assignments. I've also noticed letting the AI do returns for me tends to net better yards than me doing it myself. Rushing isn't a ton different either way, I can run fine for the most part. Passing is extremely hard on higher diffs.

I've been trying some RPOs and they seem pretty strong.

So what is the deal with the PAC12 in the game? Don't understand how it exists/operates. I though OSU and WSU were in the MWC.
In real life they're still the PAC 12, but they have a scheduling agreement with the MW.

As an aside, their Vegas-based media day (complete with open bar) this year looked awesome.
