Do you wash your meat?

This falls right in line with the thing I heard about people rinsing pre shredded cheese to get the potato starch / cellulose off it.
Wow. On one hand, when you can actually see “extras,” it’s a little off-putting. On the other hand, soggy cheese? I know I’m old, but it’s not THAT hard to grate your own.

I had no idea when I started this thread that so many of you are so uncouth and dirty-minded.

I always rinse my weiner before I stick it in . . . the microwave.
They usually sit in the wrapper longer than should and get a film on it.

How long are you wearing your rubbers, my man?!?!?!?

Purposely provocative thread title, but I am generally curious...

I saw a social media post of someone cooking steaks on a flat top grill, and she opened up a package of steaks and put them right on the grill. The comments were filled with people outraged/disgusted that she didn't wash the steaks first.

I've never done this, but apparently people do? What are your thoughts?

Who the **** washes their steak? Or any meat for that matter? What's the point? The fire will kill anything bad as long as it's cooked properly. Washing meat? Lol..

I still haven’t understood what people think they are accomplishing in rinsing or washing that a pat dry with a paper towel won’t accomplish. I really don’t think there’s much visual or flavor impact on a little blood that doesn’t get totally removed by wiping it.

There is literally zero sanitary benefit. It’s impossible for any bacteria to survive on the surface.

I mean, if there’s **** or feathers on your chicken, you got problems that washing probably isnt going to help.
