Friday OT - No Shame

Miley Cyrus Party in the USA is a top 5 song of all time to me and I don’t care who knows it.
You, me, and Kelsey Joens know quality. If I remember the clip correctly, in the video of Audi asking people their favorite hype song, this was Kelsey’s answer and Audi looks her up and down and says “that checks out.”

Also had a discussion with my neighbor about birding and gardening. She asked what bird kept hooting and I said Merlin tells me it’s a Eurasian Collared Dove. So she immediately downloads the app and mentions when she was younger, she would see all these people out in the park birdwatching and think how lame it was and wonder why people worked so much on their gardens instead of just buying stuff at the farmer’s market. She planted her first garden this spring. Now she gets it. Communing with nature is way less stressful than people.

The number of jokes I see about millennial women skipping a midlife crisis and going straight to granny hobbies are both numerous and very, very true

Is listening to 80/90s music considered shameful? I see kids listening to bangers from back then all the time. Even my 20-something kid listens to a lot of that music.
It's because, like wide-legged jeans (FKA bell bottoms) they think it's all new.

I have a Spotify playlist named 'Sugar' that has stuff like Sugar Sugar, Daydream Believer, Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes). Walk Away Renee, etc. The sappier, the better!

What is there in society that has looked down upon that you secretly love? I love 80s music and enjoy disco, and I have no shame about it.

What are yours?
I'm with you on disco. There's no better music for getting people out on the dance floor. Everybody can dance to disco.

I'll also add ABBA as another one for me personally. Their songwriting was very underrated and their bass player, Rutger Gunnarsson was one of the greats and was responsible for laying down those infectious grooves.

We need a break after midlife crunch of trying to cover kids’ activities.

I’m not sure if this fits this category but when I’m golfing, I LOVE to look for golf balls. My buddies absolutely hate it, but I make a game out of it. I’ll set a goal to find 5-6 balls on a certain spot on the course and won’t quit until I find that many. I once quit a round at Honey Creek in Boone because I had found so many balls on the back 9. Had my buddies come back and pick me up when they finished on 18 and I ended up somewhere around 100 balls.

Squared off, boxy, shaped vehicles like the Ford Flex, Kia Soul or Honda Element. I find all those swoopy weirdly creased vehicles with odd shaped rear side windows, goofy looking. Also, seems like a lot of them have freakishly large expansive grills.

And I find myself liking vintage station wagons, which I never ever liked before (except a few of the sportier 2-door models)

I do think the pendulum is moving back towards a more squared of look.
