Just so poorly constructed, everyone strikes out way too much, just very few contact hitters. Pathetic lineup construction. For the record, I don’t blame Counsell because he’s got ******* dog **** to work with… but what the hell is the decision to go with Smyly there?
Shouldn’t have even been in that position if the bats were worth a **** all game.
2nd inning: two guys on, one out. Strikeout, strikeout
4th inning: bases loaded no outs, get one run on an infield hit, pop up, strikeout, groundout
5th inning: did score three but struck out twice with runners on second and third
6th inning: runners on the corners no outs, pop up, strikeout, strikeout
12 strikeouts on the night. The entire team is so broken
I get the bullpen is not great, but this offense is just atrocious on pretty much every metric right now.
This right now is the best way to let ownership know this **** with our FO and development can’t happenI do appreciate that they are making it very easy not renew Marquee this month.
I'm not sure how many they even have left on the 40 man roster because of injuries. Roberts on rehab and Arias? They need to just say **** it and start focusing on 2025. And to me, that starts with calling up some guy who can eat innings in Iowa and moving Assad to the bullpen and seeing if he has closer potential.
Build your 2025 roster and roles now.
Why should they be? Wrigley is full all the time so they are satisfied and they got their title in 2016 to keep the fans satisfied for awhile .The worst part is that it’s becoming clear that the Ricketts aren’t concerned with much beyond their own wealth status.
Yep I can’t argue with you. They ain’t called the lovable losers for no reason. That’s why fans like us who care about winning were pining for a guy like Cuban to buy the team. Why should they be? Wrigley is full all the time so they are satisfied and they got their title in 2016 to keep the fans satisfied for awhile .
I went to Wrigley last week for the Giants series and you'd be surprised how many people don't care, they just like going to a game there. I was at the game when Soler hit that grand slam and they almost blew a 5 run lead. Only a few of us in the stands were getting upset, it definitely wasn't a majority.
