For the record, I don’t blame Counsell because he’s got ******* dog **** to work with… but what the hell is the decision to go with Smyly there?

Shouldn’t have even been in that position if the bats were worth a **** all game.

2nd inning: two guys on, one out. Strikeout, strikeout
4th inning: bases loaded no outs, get one run on an infield hit, pop up, strikeout, groundout
5th inning: did score three but struck out twice with runners on second and third
6th inning: runners on the corners no outs, pop up, strikeout, strikeout

12 strikeouts on the night. The entire team is so broken

So how the **** does Jed still have a job?

You just handed the ball to Colton Brewer and Drew Smyly in the 9th to close out the game

The best arm in the bullpen is a guy Jed DFA’d 2 years ago.

Just so poorly constructed, everyone strikes out way too much, just very few contact hitters. Pathetic lineup construction.

Steele has 0 wins on June 25th. If you would have told me he had no wins by this point, I would have assumed a Tommy John type of injury but it’s the most non-clutch team in franchise history.

Just an absolutely atrocious roster. Shota and PCA are about the only guys I wouldn't ship off to the Yomiuri Giants at this point. There may not be a person in sports who is worse at his job than Jed Hoyer.

My main goal for the Cubs is to at least keep it interesting until football season. But we aren't even to the ******* 4th of July and I'm ready to ignore them.

They need to just say **** it and start focusing on 2025. And to me, that starts with calling up some guy who can eat innings in Iowa and moving Assad to the bullpen and seeing if he has closer potential.

Build your 2025 roster and roles now.

Canario better let his family know he's not going to be seen for awhile.

UPDATE: Ooops Tommy

I'm not sure how many they even have left on the 40 man roster because of injuries. Roberts on rehab and Arias?

Complete organizational failure. They missed the playoffs last year and then the FO put almost the same exact f*cking team on the field this year. Not seeing steady improvement during this phase of the rebuild is absolutely unacceptable. Oh yeah and they’re really boring.

The worst part is that it’s becoming clear that the Ricketts aren’t concerned with much beyond their own wealth status. They just want an ok team that will fill Wrigley at least on the weekends (extremely easy to do). They got their WS and they’ll just keep pointing to that as proof they give a sh*t about winning anything substantial.

Why should they be? Wrigley is full all the time so they are satisfied and they got their title in 2016 to keep the fans satisfied for awhile .

I went to Wrigley last week for the Giants series and you'd be surprised how many people don't care, they just like going to a game there. I was at the game when Soler hit that grand slam and they almost blew a 5 run lead. Only a few of us in the stands were getting upset, it definitely wasn't a majority.

Yep I can’t argue with you. They ain’t called the lovable losers for no reason. That’s why fans like us who care about winning were pining for a guy like Cuban to buy the team.

Our new designated closer has given up 7 earned runs in 4.1 innings just in the last week.

Our future all-star center fielder has struck out 9 times in his last 15 at-bats. This team is a total disaster right now.
