They definitely did not easily beat them. Comfortable most of the game? Maybe. Still gave up 82 points and won by 9 despite a ridiculous free throw discrepancy. At one point it was like 27-8 in free throw attempts for Iowa.

...Tom Izzo and Michigan State basketball were the victims of one of the larger upsets in March Madness history. In the 2016 NCAA Tournament, a lot of people were picking the Spartans, who were a two seed, to win the national title. However, their time in the big dance did not last long as #15 seed Middle Tennessee State upset them in the first round.

Now, Izzo thinks that the automatic qualifier rule should be looked at and potentially reevaluated.

I agree with him. I want to see all the best schools, I don’t care about the upsets from small schools. Alabama western state doesn’t need to be in. I would shrink it and also have the final four be best of three series.

Agreed. Our style is like a team that blitzes every play. If our opponent shows early they can handle it, calmly sort it out and make us pay, it's going to be a long day.

Nowhere to go from there.

I think TJ has started to adjust better in game the last part of the season. Hope he does that if needed today.
