Bracketology 2024

So the analysis is we are a lock for Omaha regardless if we are a one or a two, and if we are a one there's a decent chance we play an 8/9 Nebraska in Omaha second round?
according to Palm, that's exactly what he's got transpiring.

Exactly the type of team I don’t want us to face, much less an hour from their campus. Not scared of Nebraska, but they have the potential to go all BYU on us.

Except Creighton cannot play in Omaha because it is their home court.

Though I imagine there are a good number of crossover fans between Creighton and Nebraska. Some of them may have taken advantage of early tickets simply because its a chance to watch the games close by even if they're neutral fans of the games being played.

Fwiw, I went back 10 years in KenPom and, minus the COVID tournament, the worst NCSOS to get a 1 seed was Virginia in 2019 at 258.
Is there any legitimate case over those last dozen years of a team possible deserving of a 1 not getting it because of this metric. Not sure your quick research has that answer. But be interesting to know if the committee has ever been put to this task before. There is always a first time for everything right!!!

I know Lunardi is an idiot but the reason he has us in Boston is he has Tennessee ahead of us. 5 v. 6 Does their resume justify being seeded ahead of us?
That's the worst bracket I've seen. Lunardi is a tool and I pay no mind to him. If we do get that bracket it will be a complete hose job like getting stuck playing MSU in Mich

It seems that the national narrative of outrage over gaming non-con SOS will force the selection committee to punish us for it, even though the only thing that should matter is overall SOS. Would be shocked if they gave us a 1 over a national brand, when it's so much easier to just give it to the national brand and not have to face the backlash.

That said, we are more deserving of a 1 seed than Tennessee, Arizona or UNC. This has set up similarly to the 99-2000 team.

Punish group of three for bad conference schedules. They clearly did not want Kansas, Arizona, Houston or UConn on their conference schedule when they created them the past few years.

Iowa State #1 in the West and UNC to the East with UConn solves a lot of the issues in moving teams because of distance rules. And the absolute total domination by Iowa State over Houston versus the optics of a bad loss by North Carolina has to be considered.

Thought I just posted this but can't find it.

If UNC gets the final 1 seed. Arizona will stay west as LA is the further distance of the other 3 in contention.

After that it's us Tennessee and Marquette all closer to Detroit then any other region. Highest seed of the 3 gets MW.

The final 2 locations will be determined by conference affiliation. We can't go South. Marquette can't go East.

I honestly think these bracketologist are missing if we earn the choice we go MW. They just see it's easier to place us there. But unless Tennessee or Marquette are a higher overall seed we should get Detroit.
I've seen this mentioned a few times, but why is this the case?
