I think there's some validity to it. Now, Clemson could have gamed the NET, so they shouldn't be whining. And Iowa State shouldn't have been his example because even if we did game the NET we backed it up by performing at a high level in the conference. It's a valid point for a team that goes 10-8 in the conference maybe. Not one that is 13-5 and wins the tournament.

Yep. People act like teams have a ton of control over their noncon schedules are really just arguing that it matters for some reason whether your "basically a scrimmage" buy games are simply 'really bad' or 'terrible', and that this should somehow be a major factor in seeding (and apparently a larger factor than winning actual things like a conference tournament)
Watson came up limping yesterday and he was hobbling pretty badly after the game.
It's happened before. I'm guessing Nebraska fans bought up Omaha tickets much like we would in Des Moines even if you didn't think we'd play there.
Honest question; would they put a 1 seed in a position to play a lower seeded team that close to the lower seeded teams campus? Someone has likely answered that in this thread and I missed it, unsure how geography is ultimately decided.
A&M loss is still nagging me. Same with Baylor loss. Those two go our way and we are a 1 with no debate.
I guess Ward being out in that tourney doesn’t matter. But later in the season ones do like with Kansas? These talking heads are all over the map on what matters and doesn’t to fit their narrative.

I think it happened last year. Houston v. Auburn in Birmingham.
I don’t have an objection to considering the non conference SOS but only to the extent it’s a tie breaker of sorts when teams have similarly strong conference and conference tourney results. Or if you’re in a conference like Gonzaga where you’ve got to do something to make up for the fact you play maybe 2 or 3 teams remotely competitive in a national context from January through March.
I also think there is a difference in beating good non con teams versus just playing them.
Like kudos to UNC for beating Tennessee but they also lost to Villanova and Kentucky. So now we’re talking about giving credit for “good” losses. Which is also fine but now apply that to Iowa State and you can say the same thing.

So is CBS pumping is up because they saw the bracket (assuming they get an early look to do graphic stuff for their show) or are they doing it just to generate generate more interest in the bracket reveal show?

It might just be that they've finally realized that it is a lot closer than you would have thought.
I know Lunardi is an idiot but the reason he has us in Boston is he has Tennessee ahead of us. 5 v. 6 Does their resume justify being seeded ahead of us?
