***2023-24 College Football Thread***

Wisky lost to Northwestern and Indiana this year, and went 7-5. They are not that good. This game is only showing how stupid these bowl games have become.

One team is pumped to be in this game, and one just wants it to be over already. LSU during the season would have pasted this Wisky team.

Heisman Trophy Winner, not just a QB. Total disruption of the offensive flow. They lost their leading passer AND leading rusher (same guy). Plus, LSU has NO DEFENSE. As for the records, (9-3) vs. (7-5) is not that big of a deal. One more loss by LSU and one more win by Wisconsin (and they both had multiple close games), and they are both (8-4). I like Wisconsin and the points today!
Wisco is playing without their stud RB Braelon Allen, as well as two of their top WRs and their best offensive linemen. And they play in the B1G West which is a complete joke.

And it isn't like the new LSU qb is a scrub

Changing from a running QB to a pocket passer is a big change. Even if the new guy is good, that’s a completely different offense. It’s like dropping Purdy into Baltimore’s offense. It’s just not going to work.

I don't think it's that outlandish to say that LSU should still win.

And you're salty this morning

Allen being out and WI being pretty rickety all season would be reason enough to be surprised by the start.

Maybe they started getting some real traction from the extra practices.

That's my point. Add to that the fact that they're playing without their stud RB, top WRs, and best OL.

How many times does it need to be said that non playoff bowl games are completely meaningless these days? They are vacations. You could tell from the very beginning that LSU had no desire to be playing in this game today.

That's fine. I'm not making excuses for LSU. Doesn't bother me one bit if they lose. Point is, I thought Wiscsonsin was going to win the game today. Badgers + points was a sure win today to me for reasons. Not a gambler, but I still follow the point spreads! :) B1G West is doing better in the Bowl Games than the B1G East (Ohio State, cough, cough, and Penn State, cough, cough). Rutgers and Maryland carrying the B1G East Banner so far. Go Figure! Iowa should win B1G today too.

So now it's moved from missing their Heisman QB to the rest of the team not caring about playing today. Interesting pivot.

This LSU QB is terrible. Missing wide open guys all over the place. But I'm sure Daniels wouldn't have made a difference.

I expect to see a similar thing in the Iowa / Tennessee game.

They are certainly related. That Heisman QB is missing because they don’t care. LSU doesn’t put up banners for the Reliaquest Bowl.

I've agreed with most around here that the B1G West has been a big pile of poo this season. It's just surprising how all of a sudden many don't agree that an unranked, 7-5 B1G West team with some embarrassing losses playing without their best RB and OL against the #13 ranked team that finished 9-3 in the best division in the country isn't a mismatch.

Why didn't the Wis player get flagged for slowing down and doing a couple litte skips on that long TD?
BecUse the front of his jersey doesn't say Iowa State. Totally should be flagged by rule, but crap like that never happens to schools other than us.

In my particular case (forgetting the opt outs, etc.), I see a program like Wisconsin which is familiar with winning football annually being a tough team even in a down year. Same with LSU. I don't think the records matter so much, and I do not look down on Wisconsin. Looks like Bucky is going to roll today, and I like it!
