*** Official Lindenwood vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

I think we have 3 guys score over 20 points tonight, and 5 others score 8 or more. Can we break 100?

I enjoy these games. I obviously don't get as excited in the lead up as I do with big games, but they give me less stress, and I enjoy watching some of the guys deeper down on the bench get more minutes.

100% agree. Any Cyclone MBB is must watch for me regardless of the opponent or season. And yes, that does include the 2-22 debacle season. Admittedly I may have watched some of those games after the fact rather than live, but I still watched every single one.

Minor quibble but I think you forgot to put quotations around Talent. As in the tv "talent".

I'm hoping for Omaha to get more minutes and more looks to score. Maybe not be the featured guy, but more than 2 shots on the night. Excited to see how he develops before Big 12 play.
I think he and Ward might get more opportunities if we continue to shoot the three well and teams have to stretch their defenses out to the perimeter.

In a game like this, where his contributions really won't influence the outcome, I think Otz should play him as much as humanly possible. Personally I'd ease up on Tamin's, Gilbert's, MomC and R. Jones' minutes and go heavy on the younger players and guys with (and you hope have) expanded roles. Omaha, Ward, King, Watson, C. Jones and even guys like Pav should get minutes. Normally I wouldn't put a freshman like MomC in that category but I think his game is already advanced as a freshman. His tests will come against the harder competition, something he won't see until maybe the Iowa game.

Let's get some guys (like Omaha and C Jones) some confidence, try to get Watson confident in his shot early, and get Ward and King used to seeing big minutes without getting into foul trouble. Our schedule is pretty deplorable so we might as well use it to our advantage. Having Tamin and Gilbert feast on crap (possibly risking injury), having MomC school another crap team, or having Jones give us exactly what we know he will give (many on here know I'm not a fan of the minutes he gets but in this case it's more about not giving a guy minutes who is a known quantity and has the same role) doesn't do much for the improvement of the team.

More than the outcome (score) I'm more interested to see how Otz allocates minutes and how the guys in the 2nd paragraph handle certain situations.
