MLB: ***2026 Minnesota Twins***

Unfortunately the Twins approach does not translate to playoff success typically. In the regular season, especially late in the year, the low contact slugging approach works fine. Against 1-3 starters and tighter bullpens you face in the playoffs, not so much.

I think this team is good enough to win a series, but I don’t take a lot of stock in regular season offense when it includes a high strikeout approach.

1991 started with Toronto and ended with Atlanta. Maybe the same will happen this year.
Fun fact I was born just before the '91 run. My son was born after the post-season was complete in 2022, so this is his first Twins season "earth side".

I'm thinking this is a mortgage the house, go all-in on the Twins to win the whole damn thing type of setup.

I was a mere lad of 2 when the Twins won that '91 World Series. I have no recollection of it sadly, so am hoping that that isn't the only World Series the Twins win during my life time.

I was in 5th grade for the '91 series. My parents forced me to go to bed in Game 6 when the game went to extra innings. I told them during Game 7 that they can't make me miss the end of that game!

I was a freshman on 7th floor Knapp Hall (Otopalik House) and our RA was from Minnesota. We had a blast that October watching the World Series. Braves camp in the lounge, Twins camp huddled around the tv in the RA's room. Good times!

Not a good defensive start for the Twins. Kepler should have had foul fly, Polanco error to first, and Julien misses the lead runner. But luckily, it didn’t bite them this time.

C’mon Alex, that’s not just a ‘tough call’, that’s ball four to Julien in what should have been bases loaded and one out for Polanco.
