Huh? How bout winning at the collegiate level? Making a run at the NCAA tournament? A conference title? The opportunity to achieve something special with teammates you've been with for 2 years? Being a college kid for another year? Getting a free education? Rounding out your game? Bulking up?

You make it sound like a no-brainer. I'm glad you're not Craig Brackins.

CB gone + no HB = no GMac much longer. Doesn't get much simpler than that. You can't lose your best player 3 years in a row and survive. Doesn't mean it is his fault it is just the universe against ISU.

Having a winning season, winning a conference game on the road, not getting over powered.

Yep, and the first round is guaranteed money. Hard to argue with guaranteed money vs. possible money. Unless he plays out of his head the last few weeks of this season, I think he stands to gain a lot more credibility and money by staying one more season.

Just look how much he has improved from the beginning of the season to now, particularly on the boards. Give him one more summer with the weights and Mac's coaching, and he will be a major stud next year, and pretty much a guaranteed first round, if not lottery pick...

if he is going to be top 10 he should go whether he makes it big or not. You just don't say no to those checks. It hurts but I blame no one for cashing their lottery check and that would be his. I know it isn't called the lottery for the money reason but in reality this is what it amounts to for those few players.

What if he slips to the 2nd round like Blalock did? His numbers this year aren't all that great in terms of efficiency (FG%, A/T ratio) because he had a lot of bad outings early in the season. This season I think the pro scouts will take guys like DeMarre Carroll and Leo Lyons ahead of Brackins. Those guys are winning and they are hitting their outside shots much more consistently than Brackins. This season Brackins has to share the spotlight with Griffin, Carroll and Lyons. Next year he has the spotlight all to himself.

Speaking of Carroll and Lyons, I bet both of them are glad they pulled their name out of last year's draft...

Stinson and Blalock left as well, not sure which one I'd say was better. Either way, if CB leaves, it'll be 4 years in a row.
 
If I was an NBA owner. I would take Carroll over Brakins. Carroll has been a monster lately.

Wait, so it's not GMac's fault but yet he should be gone. And if the universe is indeed against ISU, wouldn't the next coach have the same problem? At least this time the best player wouldn't be because of transfering.

Blalock wasnt in the first round long, if at all. He fell almost out of the draft. There is a lot of bad advise that gets told to college basketball players. In some cases these players have to many taggers on that dont have the players best intrest at heart.

But he's kind of a tweener for the NBA, though I think he'll suprise a lot of people once he makes the league.

Pretty Fizer-esque (except for the long, flowing hair :biglaugh:) Fizer was a much more dominant force inside than Carroll is, though. They are both pretty physical, with decent touch from the perimeter. I don't think Carroll will make much of a splash in the NBA. I'm sure he'll be drafted, but I doubt he makes a career out of it...

Yep, as long as they don't sign with an agent they are good to go.
 
I would presume Craig will go to draft camps but unlikely he will hire an agent. Why not go get scouted let them tell you what you need to work on and then come back for another year of college ball? I would be pretty confident he'll be back next year but ppl shouldnt freak out when he does look around this summer
 
I think Carroll is probably very close to his ceiling already whereas Craig is a ways from it. That would make Craig a MUCH better prospect...

Neither was Anthony Randolph from LSU last year and he was a lottery pick. If you have the body type, athleticism, and game they are looking for...they will take the approach that they can better tend to your physical development with you employed for them full time than can be attended to by playing college ball and having to go to school.
