@cowgirl836 kindergarten updates?

Oh yeah! He loved it! Came home telling us all about it. Wasn't sure how it would go but he played with 2 friends he knew would be in his class and then found a former daycare friend in a different class (same grade). And a painted turtle wandered onto the playground which they got to see on a tour of the school. He was looking forward to going back today. Hope the enthusiasm remains!

Didn’t get any chicks instragrams yet?

any pond experts out here?

been having a fish kill lately. i think oxygen levels are low.

the high temps and thick algae is what's doing it, i think.

this morning at the pond there were probably 50+ cat fish at the surface trying to get oxygen.

Try mouth to mouth and see what happens.

Either need a fountain or get a couple geese. They like algae

Can you use a skimmer or algae rake to get some of the algae off?

Beyond that, you might want to consider what is encouraging algae growth and work on prevention (assuming this is a farm pond). This might help:

They just can't start until September 1 so they get it in.

Although some public started in late August and I'm not sure how.
In Minnesota, public schools can apply for an exception. Generally the reason is due to a large upcoming construction project.

It's never going to rain again. Or at least until my roofing contractors call and give me a date they are going to come and shingle. Bet that will bring rain.

Mrs. Velo washed her car yesterday but didn't immediately move it to the garage. So of course we got just enough of a sprinkle to spot it all up. But clearly not enough to do anyone any good.
