No we beat Texas 30-7.Didn't see that one. Did we lose the game?
You never bet against your own team no matter what. It means you don’t think you can win and as a player you always think you will win going into a game.Does anyone know the size of this bet?
Not sure I'd be as fired up if I knew it was a $5-$10 "emotional hedge" bet. Still dumb and deserving of whatever consequences he is facing. I just don't think we need to tar and feather the guy if the context changed.
I beg to differ. We lost 24 straight games over 3+ years in high school. The stands would be damn near empty with only parents remaining after halftime when all the band parents left. You never bet against your own team no matter what. Jeff grad?I beg to differ. We lost 24 straight games over 3+ years in high school. The stands would be damn near empty with only parents remaining after halftime when all the band parents left.
LM. We went from mid 2004 season I believe to a couple games into the 2008 season without a win.Jeff grad?
Aah I was wash 05-09 I guess we were too busy beating Jeff at sports for me to notice that haha.LM. We went from mid 2004 season I believe to a couple games into the 2008 season without a win.
It does come to attitude basically. My freshman year I was on varsity and we went 0-8, we all thought we would win every game going in (next year we went 8-0 so it's not like we didn't have ability). Then when I transferred my senior year to my other school they hadn't had a winning season since like when the Stensruds were playing and you could tell the attitude was awful for several of the players and they were there just to screw around.I beg to differ. Yeah we obviously somehow lost to them as well. Jeff has had some doozies too. Meanwhile LM basketball was a buzzsaw.Aah I was wash 05-09 I guess we were too busy beating Jeff at sports for me to notice that haha.
I can understand that. I don't think anyone should be tarred and feathered. But the integrity of the sport (such as it is) cannot survive players betting on games they play in. So I think if he did bet on a game he played in then he deserves whatever he gets.Does anyone know the size of this bet?

I don't disagree and it is a "low confidence" action. The smartest option would've been to not place the bet at all. However, I do think a "throwaway" bet is different than a "throw-a-game" bet.You never bet against your own team no matter what. It means you don’t think you can win and as a player you always think you will win going into a game.
