I think UU and ASU want to hold out hope of saving the PAC if Oregon and Washington don't go to the BIG.

If so, Yormark should stick with 14, and let them stew in their own juices and if they want in later pay them less.
This seems to be the current play by ESPN and Fox. They very much would like to pay less than full rate for these 4.

If the Big12 can add corner 4 now, do it.

Why doesn't the Big12 give UConn the ND deal.
  1. Add UConn sports except FB.
  2. Add Gonzaga.
  3. UConn FB remains independent, Big12 agrees to schedule 4 non-con games annually against UConn over remainder of current Big12 TV contract.
  4. If TV folks are willing to pay UConn full share in 2031, then add UConn as full member.
Obviously, if the ACC unravels before 2031, there

may be an opportunity to add UConn earlier.

Will laugh my ass off if Notre Dame ends up in the SEC one day. 'Twould be pure gold. FWIW, lots of history between ND and SEC teams that have actually played @ Notre Dame in November in my lifetime: Alabama, LSU, Mississippi and Tennessee come to mind.

I could see that happening. Notre Dame ******* hates the Big 10.

It seems like BY only wants to bring in 16 if everyone is getting the same payments. Maybe why the last few weeks he was talking about 14 being the number, not 16.

If they are worth so much, why did they sign such a bad deal? And such a long term bad deal?
Because 10 years ago that deal wasn't bad. I was reading an article yesterday about the history of the ACC deal, don't remember where. But the media deal sucks horrible reevaluation throughout the life of the deal.

Equal shares are necessary for long-term stability. The B12 almost dissolved in 2010 due to the league having unequal shares.

Isn’t the life raft and the opportunity worth something? They can be partial members, still make more than other options, and get full shares of the next deal. There are limits to what we can payout when we start splitting the same pie by more slices. I know, pro-rata, but we don’t want to piss off ESPN or Fox.

Everybody uses everybody as leverage against everybody else. Just a reminder when UW says they have "travel concerns" at the value B1G is putting on them.

Yormark is doing this as well with ASU and UU.

Just gotta wait and see.

I am trusting that BY and his team is working their as**s off to get to an equal share situation for a 15th and 16th member. Fingers crossed...

The math UW put out would mean that the B1G offer that is out there less travel expenses might be less than a Big 12 membership. I guess that does depend on whether the B1G offer is permanent, or preliminary until they get full membership.

If it's $10M in B1G it will be $8M give our take in the XII.
