My problem with a "comp rebuild" for the NFL is that it's counting on using your later draft picks to perfectly hit on the gaps you have to take the next step. That can take years, or just never happen at all. When you go full tank and rebuild, you have a ton more space and patience to retool and fill multiple gaps with those added resources. Can't do that nearly as quickly or easily with draft and salary cap limits hitting you year after year.Kind of what I was going to say- what did they get out of it? A lower draft pick and getting beat at home in a playoff game. I’ll take two years of suckitude to get players that can make a difference. The Wilfs’ strategy of a ‘competitive rebuild’ is a recipe not necessarily for disaster, but more of the same results we’re used to.
