I was thinking the same. Kudos to Max and RB - that car flys.
For sure think RB 1 2 each race is not a crazy idea right now. Could be a long boring season.

Also sucks Alonso lost the podium like that :(
Nothing like assessing the penalty after giving him the 3rd place trophy.

The pit stop penalty coming that late is dumb. If they missed it during the race they missed it, clarify the rule and move on.

Edit: Apparently they did revert the penalty and Fernando gets his podium back, what a mess

This is as bad as NASCAR changing rules weekly. Not a good look for F1!

FIA media manager: "the word didn't like that, switch it back"

What a cluster
Was the original penalty put in for the the jack touching the car? Not sure why that isn’t a penalty. Not supposed to touch the car until the 5 seconds are up.

Sounds like maybe there was miscommunication with the team or something? Don't know, but anything touching the car should be a penalty, but they should also communicate that penalty much faster than they did.

I guess the FIA document says presumably Aston Martin showed them other times when touching the car with the jack wasn't penalized. Regardless, it seems the way forward should be no touching the car, would be the easiest way to police it and it'd be clear what the expectations are.

The Red Bull cars are stupid right now. The other thing that amazes me is how much better those Honda engines have gotten since Alonso called them a GP2 engine.
Going to be hard for Red Bull to switch to Ford engines in 2025 the way the Hondas are doing.
