ISU did contact Battle when transferred from BC TJ’s first year. Not sure if the interest is still there this time?

Ta'Lon Cooper could be a nice piece, as you would have two PG's out there with Lipsey, but I'm hoping for a better scorer/shooter at the 2 spot next season.. Williams and Lipsey likely mean no PG transfers unless they are DeAndre Kane

Battle play the same position as Biliew, Momcilovic, Tre King, and Kayden Fish.. I really like his offense, but he's slow and could be a liability on D. I think there are bigger holes in the 2023/24 roster versus adding another wing forward.

Now Dawson Garcia would look REALLY good in Cardinal and Gold...

Biliew
Tre King
Dawson Garcia

That's a SG away from preseason top 15

Not sure Garcia has the defensive chops to play for TJ.

I do somewhat hope we get away from this way of thinking this offseason. Defense is great and all, but we had some horrific offenses stretches this year. A little variety in the way we recruit isn't going to hurt.

We went after offensive minded transfers last year with Ben Vander Plas and Grant Basile, just didn't land them. Also should have had AJ Green who is an offensive guy. I don't think TJ goes out there only looking for defensive players.

I don't think we will, but I think increasing the overall incoming talent level will solve many of those issues. We can win consistently, and at a high level, with great defense and average offense (our offense the last two years has been below average and we've still had two nice years).

Bringing in one of the most skilled offensive players in the entire class is a good start.

Definitely still need to add some backcourt scoring from the portal though.

Lipsey and Biliew are all-conference level defenders. No one returning or signed is a proven, high-level scorer. We need scoring A LOT more than we need defense in 2023/24

I've just already seen a few people on here talk about how a guy isn't the type of defender TJ wants as though the pool of guys who are both high-level scorers and defenders is limitless. We have to prioritize offense and trust the TJ can will them into playing defense.
