Caleb Grill has been dismissed from team

The Troy Davis's, Marcus Fizers, Craig Brackins, Talen Horton Tuckers etc. etc...totally came to ISU for free. We're ISU, we don't cheat. Higher standards, do things right........ Blah blah blah......
Thank you ! I’m so sick of naive ISU fans acting like their **** don’t stink. Good Lord, Tim Floyd and Larry Eustachy are two of our coaching legends. And these same fans loved those teams, players, and coaches when we were winning.

It’s hilarious seeing them getting on their high horse acting like we are the one pristine, perfect BIg 12 school, and they just couldn’t handle cheering for one of those other programs. In the end, it’s all just a weird defense mechanism.

Osun pretty much on camera said he had nothing to do with the decision. Kind of leads me to believe the team vote is a lie.
What in the world do you expect him to say publicly? He should say that whether he has a role, or didn’t.

I’ll admit I’m still confused. Shoon said he had no input on the decision. You’re saying he had no input on the decision but he and the other players did on Caleb’s exit timeline?
I read this thread and that is exactly how the poster explained it the entire time.

So the captain of the ship sat him down and gave him TWO OPTIONS.....jump in the water or stay.

He choses to stay......the crew finds out says f you so the captain says sorry, I forgot to tell you about that third option, and pushes him over?

This is fun.
Guys, it’s really not that difficult. TJ confronted Caleb about what he was saying. Grill confirmed it was true. TJ said (more or less) you won’t be a part of this team anymore. You can either transfer now and make it look like you’re leaving on your own terms or you can stick around, travel with the team, but you won’t play, and we’ll blame it on your back injury, then after the season you can announce you’re transferring. The team, including shoon, did not have input on this decision.

Caleb chose the second option. TJ informed the team what’s going on. Given how he’s been in practice, games, and the locker room these last handful of weeks, they came to a unanimous decision it’s best to rip the bandaid off so that he’s not a distraction the remainder of the season and they can try to get back to how they were playing earlier in the season.

So you have direct knowledge of this? Not from a message board, but from someone in the program? How does no one else seem to have this information here but you?

Transferring?
I didn't see transferring as part of this. So is the mental health piece completely separate from being dismissed?

That's interesting, you named two of the three coaches in Iowa State's entire basketball history who have a .500 conference record or better.

And Hoiberg. Korie Lucious and Chris Allen had Cameros on campus.

I mean it’s a convoluted situation, there was no “right way” to go about it. Some things you’ll see and hear is coach speak but at the end of the day, this is what needed to be done and all parties came to that unfortunate agreement. There’s some level to saving face in there too because there is such a great deal of respect between Caleb and TJ and Caleb and his teammates and they understand the mental demons he’s battling

Has anyone mentioned that the reason he was asked to leave ISU the first time is the same as this time, but it's not for "saying something"?

Has it been confirmed what Caleb said to whom?
