I don't think we truly appreciate the value of a healthy Caleb Grill...

Playing around with barttorvik.com,

thru 1/17/2023, we were:
14-3 record (#10 in the country for wins above the bubble)
#10 in the country (#84 offense and #6 defense)
3 point shooting: 35.8% (#79 in the country)
#1 in the country forcing turnovers (28.5/game)
Opponent 3 point shooting: 29.7% (#31)

Big 12 play thru 1/17/2023, we were:
5-1 record (#2 in the country for wins above the bubble)
#7 in the country (#30 offense and #9 defense)
3 point shooting: 41.7% (#25 in the country)
#23 in the country forcing turnovers (23.9/game)
Opponent 3 point shooting: 27.6% (#37)

Since his back injury:
3-6 record (#96 in the country for wins above the bubble)
#25 in the country, (#100 in offense and #11 in defense)
3 point shooting: 30.5% (#302 in the country)
#60 in the country forcing TO's (20.4/game)
Opponent 3 point shooting: 37.1% (#277)
Yeah, I think I posted the night of the Texas game it was extremely concerning and could derail the season.

I dont think people appreciated how well he was playing on both ends. The numbers weren't huge but I thought he was playing at an all conference level those first 6 games or so before Texas.

Can I get our net ranking if Eli, Hasson, Watson, Bob and Conrad were the only guys playing?

This will tell us the true ranking of ISU

I wonder how many conferences "down" you'd have to go before that lineup would win the conference.

It was his floor game that was most valuable. He was playing great defense, causing turnovers, and hitting the boards. He hasn't played at that pace since the injury vs. Texas.

Even during a season with basically ZERO preseason expectations and coming off an insane Sweet 16 run last year. I’ve said it a hundred times, ISU fan is quickly becoming Hawk fan in both FB and BB. Maybe it’s inevitable, but I had higher hopes since we’re such a “grassroots” fan base if that makes sense.
It's ok to expect better if it's fair. I do think it's fair to expect this team to play better then it has the last few games.
