*** Official Oklahoma State vs #11 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

It would be nice if Cyclonefanatic members could shoot FTs for the team. 1000% convinced it couldn't be any worse than this.

The percentage doesn't even begin to tell the story. So many missed on the front end of 1 and 1s. Just brutal.
At least four were front end of 1 and 1. Grill two in first half, and Jones/Holmes in 2nd half.

Today's game was just another reminder of how small the margin for error is for this team. Not enough consistent shot-makers.
Grill, Gabe and Holmes are the guys to get buckets for us, and none of them were doing that effectively today. Talk about a 180 feeling wise from how we were all feeling a week ago today.

OSU might play into like the 8/9 game. They're right there in the conference standings. Imo they've underachieved with the players they have.
They didn't even have Avery Anderson today, which makes this loss sting that much more

WTF did OSU’s Asberry say to Grill at the line?? SMH

Grill was losing it Wednesday night too. His response was on him.

That **** needs to stop. It's a program that has prided itself on not responding stupidly and it only makes things worse.

I don't know why espn can't bring you "all" the game. Not that I wanted to re-watch this one, but I go back to the beginning of the game, and they are starting us "again" at the 11 min mark of the 1st half, score tied 12-12. Game coverage was delayed due to the previous Baylor/TCU game.

Why can't they have the replay coverage atleast start at the beginning of the game? Grh.

ISU's offensive floor is lower than every other team in the league. They are coached to win doing other things than score and have been good at that. But sometimes it comes down to who can get the ball in the hoop. Tonight was a night where the great things they do defensively were not enough to overcome ISU's offensive limitations.
thats a great way to put it, our offensive floor is pretty much the lowest in the league. We just don't have enough talent on that side of the ball to be consistent enough. When we can't make at least 1/2 our FTs and when we miss the front end of 4+ 1/1s it doesn't really matter how good our def is, or if we foul too much. We have to get over the hump offensively to score enough to give us a chance and sometimes we just don't get it done.

You can watch on the ESPN app if the game before runs over.

Truth be told, I don't know what the right strategy is when it comes to working the refs. But TJ's normal strategy isn't getting it done lately. I'm glad he isn't Fran McCaffrey for what it's worth
I don't like Huggins whining style at all but I just think that if you have a system where you know you are going to be fouling a lot, you need to be doing everything you can to make sure that a foul differential stays somewhat manageable. If you don't, you are giving up an extra 12-20 points at the line. Huggins is a hall of fame coach because he understands this.

We looked like last year’s team today. All around horrible effort. Caleb Grill seems to have lost his head the last two games.

Painful recalibration time.

This was supposed to be a rebuilding year. We had nothing to lose, and we got off to one of those dream starts. We were on a roll, just stacking house money. Everyone started to notice and it felt great. It was great.

Now the house is finally getting their cut. It happens. Even after recalibration, in all likelihood we will come out ahead. It's okay to be upset about it, but we have to take into account we got a little over our heads here and it doesn't help.

It won't be great, that ship has sailed. But it will be better after we recalibrate.

Everyone calm down. Remember last year? It wasn't that long ago. OSU is hot right now. We have to regroup and we'll be back on track.

No. Something is amiss internally here. Poor coaching once again. We are absolutely fatigued usually during the midway point of the first half. Out of all of our head coaches we’ve had, TJ’s has me scratching my head with substitutions and lack thereof.
