When does 2023 Conference Schedule come out?

How often do Conferences have teams which open the season against each other? I see that Louisville and Georgia Tech are playing each other in game 1.

Isn't that unusual?

Good question, I'd have to defer to someone with more expertise regarding commonality over a long-term basis.

Random check from 2022:
ACC: Louisville-Syracuse and Clemson-Georgia Tech (both week 1)
Big Ten: Nebraska-Northwestern in week 0; Illinois-Indiana and Penn State-Purdue in week 1.

Right. It's not like it never happens. So I see now that the B1G does it, ACC does (both 1-2 games per year, perhaps).

Has the Big 12 ever done it, I wonder?

It has happened in Big 12, but uncertain how often & how recently without doing extended research.

Most-recent occurrence for Iowa State was 1997 - opened vs. Oklahoma State

Happy we only got two new teams, although I’ll probably be eating my words if they struggle. (And I think they might because they haven’t had to play serious teams every week.)

Sort of sad we only have 1 October home game.
