Weather underground has officially dropped to 2" estimate for Ames. Which means now I get to scoop this heavy wet **** instead of using the snowblower.
They may be thinking the stuff still out west is going to loop back around and hit, but WHO is pretty awful when it comes to this stuff. How 13 is still seeing 4 inches of snow for Des Moines is beyond my knowledge
Considering WHO dropped their estimate to 3-4" for the metro/Ames area last night while KCCI, Weather Underground, etc were still calling 6-8" for most of today, I would say WHO is the winner here. They may be thinking the stuff still out west is going to loop back around and hit, but WHO is pretty awful when it comes to this stuff.
Last night the forecast for Fremont was 8-12 inches. The morning forecast was 8-12 inches of wet snow. So far I have less than 2 inches.Considering WHO dropped their estimate to 3-4" for the metro/Ames area last night while KCCI, Weather Underground, etc were still calling 6-8" for most of today, I would say WHO is the winner here.
It will be moist.
Tell me about the Southern Oscillation Index or go home.La Nina is gone. Latest charts I saw at a conference last week said El Nino will be here this early summer/late spring.
If it doesn't all fall within the first five minutes, it's game over!People do realize that it can snow 1-2" an hour right? Doesn't need to snow more than a few hours to get accumulations
I haven't followed KCCI as much. Just know that several times I've followed WHO's forecast and they've said clear, beautiful weekend midday on Friday only to have rain and storms roll in and ruin the plans I made based on their Friday forecast.Considering WHO dropped their estimate to 3-4" for the metro/Ames area last night while KCCI, Weather Underground, etc were still calling 6-8" for most of today, I would say WHO is the winner here.
I thought we were supposed to have precipitation in some form all night, but this looks like it's a couple hours away from ending.
Same here. I think originally it was suppose to go through the night, but over the day it kept going slowly north of Des Moines and ankeny.Yeah, i'm curious about this as well. If its going to wrap up around 10 like the future 'radar' shows, I may go out and knock that out before bed.
Just started snowing north of Fort Dodge in the last 15 minutes.1" exactly in downtown Des Moines, changed at 6:20, so right at an inch/hour attm. Anybody north of 30 know anything?
**** that. Just run it at a higher ground speed to feed more volume of snow.Weather underground has officially dropped to 2" estimate for Ames. Which means now I get to scoop this heavy wet **** instead of using the snowblower.
**** I will. Was wanting to smoke a fatty and go out and snowblow**** that. Just run it at a higher ground speed to feed more volume of snow.
