I see people all over the “give me Lipsey over Hunter” angle - which I won’t disagree with - but can we talk about how good Holmes was tonight?

He is quiet about it - as announcers rightfully pointed out tonight several times - but I think his contributions this year have been under appreciated. Or at least not talked about enough.

Not flashy, but he’s absolutely been getting it done. His last bucket and then taking charge on the other end was very well the mail in the coffin tonight.

21 points on 13 shots, 3 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, no TO. Took at least one charge and no fouls.

In a super intense game he had his head screwed on straight the entire time.

I've loved from the get go but was really wanting him to be more aggressive...he's not been like he was tonight in a LONG time. Hope he keeps it up because when he's like that, it just makes the entire team more difficult to beat.

This is probably a terrible analogy, but he kind of reminds me of a poor man's D-Kane in that, when ISU needs a bucket, he can go get you a bucket. Not as a big, but he's got that strong body and control getting to spots near the basket to score.

I mostly say that because D-Kane was one of my all-time favorite. Elite bucket getter.

Aggressive but letting the shot come to him. Seems like he's been better at this lately.

I was a fan of him from catching a couple games when he was with the Bonnies. Straight bulldog.

He was the steady force we needed tonight. No TO and no fouls in a game that intense is never going to grab a headline, but super impressive if you’re the type of fan that appreciates the nuances of this sport.

I get that when he had some low shooting percentage games that people wanted him to pick his spots a bit, but we just don’t have guys that can create a shot off the dribble. When the offense bogs down or shot clock gets low it’s pretty much up to him to get a shot. He’s just a bulldog and is crafty as hell. I love his game.
