If he lands on him, it’s roughing, if he throws him down, roughing, now if you try to just tackle him and avoid both of those, roughing. Do you have to basically just hold him up and hope he can’t throw it?

With the weather in that SD/Cincy game being so brutal, the narrative is that it's a major catalyst for keeping the high flying Chargers out of the SB. The Bengals beat them 40-17 earlier that year in San Diego when it was 65 degrees and little wind.

Maybe under normal conditions while getting a 2nd crack at em' things could have been different. Who knows? From a historical perspective that 1st match-up in San Diego is not well known, or forgotten about, or overlooked for some reason.

Marty Schottenheimer was fired from SD after a 14-2 season where a DB didn't have the presence of mind to just take a knee after a late-ish INT vs Tom Brady. That franchise might still be deserving of this bad and then some.
