Lazard moving on

Blocking a CB and blocking someone like Micah Parsons are two entirely different jobs. He's found his niche, he's pretty good at it, just needs a team that fits.
And honestly, GB does fit him well, or at least Lafleur's offense.

Now I also didn't read that as him saying he's 100% done, just that he's out of contract and will most likely be looking for somewhere else. I'd be curious what soured him to GB if that's the case, was it being passed over by the rookies, any contract negotiations, or what.

Most TEs don’t normally block guys like Micah Parsons one on one anyway, they provide more of a chip on guys like that. He could certainly put on a few pounds, he’s what, 230 already. Not out of the realm, and really good blocking and pass catching TEs will get paid handsomely.
Lol. 330 lbs 6'8'' monsters with great feet and laterall push can barely block Parsons.

Not sure why a reporter would ask a free agent if someone else is returning next year.

H
AL certainly was pissed off about the question, but he should know after four years in GB that the #1 topic in the state of Wisconsin is always Aaron Rodgers. At least until the next QB comes along.

Yes, I am serious. He is a decent receiver but he has the blocking skills of a TE, and the size of a TE. His speed is more in line with one, too. He is, at best, a WR2 on a semi decent team. He isn’t a WR1, and certainly not one on a playoff team. Any team worth a damn probably has him WR3.

All I’m saying is that maybe a slide to TE could benefit his remaining career. He has a lot of those skills as is.

Lazard is such a big part of the Packer's offense, I would be surprised if they don't make him a decent offer. I'm sure he is a little pissed it hasn't happened before now.

It would be fun to see him on the 49ers next year even though he might be WR3. That coaching staff would use his skills.

The dude takes souls in the running game.

Would love to see him out there blocking for McCaffrey and crew. Mix in a WR3 catching numbers for fun too.

Hats off to Lazard for going from practice squad to a key member of an offense

Green Bay is toxic right now. I'm glad AL is getting the hell out of dodge. Other teams are gonna value him way more than the Packers. Wouldn't be surprised to see him crack 1,000 yrds someplace else.
I'm a Packers fan and completely agree.

Gutekunst clearly had a plan and a path forward when he took over, but drafting Love lit a fire under Aaron's ass and Gutey decided to try and capture lightning in a bottle a few more times. Every time they "reloaded" for another run the team got notably worse, they sacrificed the future of the team's salary cap for the present, and catered even more to Rodgers. despite his increasingly selfish playstyle.

It's resulted in a team that's really tough to root for and I spent less time watching the NFL this year than I have in decades. Didn't really miss it.

I expect Green Bay will be in rebuilding mode. If they haven't offered him a contract yet, he likely doesn't fit into their vision for the future. It's just business. It sounds like he is likely to get multiple offers and should find a good landing spot. 11 Mil/yr isn't too shabby.

I think Lazard is more annoyed by the question than anything.

Allen performed a lot better this year when he was back in a WR2 role. I'm hoping he can get paid and fill that role somewhere else, too. As others have mentioned, ideally somewhere that utilizes his great blocking (like GB did).

I'm hoping Osborn continues to develop into the #2.
Lazard's stats compare pretty closely with Theilen, this year. 60-70 catches, 7-800 yards, 7 TDs. He shines in run blocking, though. And he's a big body in the red zone.
Seems like he’s a lower tier 2 or a really good WR 3 no matter the team.
