Former Cyclones at other schools 2022-23 season

Looking at some previous players stat updates from last years roster:

'21-'22 team:
Jaden Walker (East Carolina): 26mpg, 6ppg, 5rbg and 2 apg
Tre Jackson (Western Carolina): 33mpg, 14ppg, 45% 3pt
Tristan Enaruna (Cleveland State): 30mph, 12ppg, 6rpg

'20-'21 team:
Tyler Harris (South Florida): 30mph, 15ppg, 3rpg, 3apg
Rasir Bolton (Gonzaga) : 26mph, 11ppg, 43% 3pt [basically identical to last year]
Javan Johnson (DePaul): 36mpg(!), 16ppg, 5rpg, 42% 3pt
Darlingstone Dubar (Hofstra): 24mpg, 12ppg, 5rpg, 43% 3pt
Xavier Foster (SMU): basically hasn't played, total of 19 minutes
Blake Hinson (Pitt): 32mpg, 17ppg, 7rpg

Looks like pretty much everyone found a great landing spot and are getting to play a lot and contribute. Definitely shows how little P5 talent we had at the end of the Prohm era though.

Hinson sticks out from this list, great numbers.

Tre has been awesome. I hope the Catamounts can take care of business in the Southern Conference Tournament so we can watch him play some in March. They are currently 9-7 and 2-1 respectively. Good enough for 4th in the conference standings. I don't know where the Southern Conference ranks on the grand scale of conferences, but the best team by overall record is Furman at 11-5 and 2-1. Am guessing this conference will get a 15 seed at best, more likely even a 16 seed.

Wish we would've gotten a chance to see Hinson. In addition to 17 & 7, 35% from 3 on 88 attempts. Obviously in a good place for him.

It's early, but Pitt is tied for the ACC lead. Will be alone atop the conference if they win at home vs Clemson on Saturday.

I don't mean this as a slight and wish him the best but Jaden Walker has really struggled at East Carolina despite getting 26 minutes a game. A testament to our staff that we were able to squeeze some good minutes out of him in late February last year. He has PRPG! of -0.4, an offensive rating of 89.7, and his FG% is 34.9. Not great numbers.

Tre Jackson hasn't shot it as well of late but is still shooting 42% from three on over 8 attempts a game! Seems like he found the perfect level to shine and gets to play close to home alongside a high school teammate.

I'm happy to see our former guys doing well. Basically everyone on that list was a split needed by both parties and it's working out well for most of them.

Tre Jackson is the one who makes me the happiest. Really felt like there was something there with both him and Conditt last year if our staff has gotten to them sooner. Sadly that wasn't what happened.

Speaking of, Conditt appears to be doing ok overseas at the moment

It's too bad about Jaden. Athletic kid but lacks the refined skill I think. Loose handle and clunky jump shot. He is at his best grabbing loose balls and rebounds, disrupting passing lanes with his length etc. Offensively he is a bit of a tweener. Hard to find minutes at the 2 or 3 when you can't shoot, and certainly not a PG like Prohm tried to make him. Maybe he can figure it out his senior year. Should have 2 years of eligibility left I believe.

Jaden Walker, East Carolina 12-12 (3-8 in American; 9th): 5.2 ppg 4.3 rpg
Xavier Foster, SMU 8-16 (3-8 in American; 10th): has appeared in 10 games and has tallied 4 points and 4 rebounds total...

Texas (Hunter) and Bolton (Gonzaga) are shoe ins for the NCAA Tournament at this point; Hinson and Pitt are on the bubble right now; Dubar and Hofstra are having a nice low-major season, but that is a one-bid league and Charleston has been better than them, aside from losing their head to head match. Winning the CAA Tournament will be a must for Dubar and the Pride; everybody else on the list is gonna have to play bid stealer come conference tournament season.

Other notes:
- No idea how Nate Jenkins gets 25+ mpg while putting up those numbers. On the other hand, Green Bay might be one of the bottom 10 or even 5 programs in the sport.
- You gotta feel bad for guys like Javan Johnson and Tyler Harris. They've done a lot of bouncing around, and while they are each enjoying great individual seasons, they have never really gotten to play on a decent team.
- Terrence Lewis has to be injured. Couldn't find anything concrete, but his Twitter feed is filled with pretty emotional Tweets since late November, around the last time he played. Not sure he has any eligibility left after this season, but he would have to be pushing 25 if not 26 heading into next season. Sucks for the guy, as I was hoping he could go somewhere and crush it for a couple years after it never materialized here for him.
- Another seasons worth of evidence that guys like Griffin, Walker, and Foster were just flat out misses for Prohm as they continue to underwhelm at their next stops. This list doesn't even include guys that don't currently play Division 1 ball (Leech, Anderson, Blackwell etc)

Agree on nearly all of this, but Foster was so highly regarded it’s hard to call that a “miss”. You have a kid in-state like that you have to go after him. All easy for us to say now in hindsight, but he was in a different stratosphere recruiting wise compared to the others.

Dudley Blackwell is the 6th leading scorer for a 2-20 Division 2 school.

Man, the 2019/2020 classes might have been the worst in program history. A former manager from the basketball team said a couple of those guys were struggling so much in practice that Prohm basically told them that the writing was on the wall and they transferred the day before the first game.

I'd say anyone who regarded him highly missed badly.
