Agree with the stuff people are saying to her tweet. ESPN handled this as well as network possibly could given the circumstances.
Sometimes it's better to remain silent and have people think you are stupid. Comments like this can remove all doubt.

Agree....bad take and the comments let her have it. I honestly am not going to listen today as I don't want to hear her backpedaling and hindsight....and it's Tuesday, so don't need 5-0s takes, lol.
As many have said, I thought all involved in the broadcast did excellent on the fly in a horrible situation with limited information. Had they cut to a re-run of a 30 for 30 or something I think would have felt weirder and the Twitter theories would have been off the rails.
I’m surprised at how many similar incidents there are that people are referring back to. So many I’d either forgotten or never heard of.Hoping the young man is OK. The hit looked typical, but back in 05 an arena player died from a very typical looking hit.

That is such a horrible take. About the billionth reason why I’m still shocked people listen to that show.
Yeah, they do have a helicopter that serves the one in Des Moines. Saved my bacon when they transferred me from rural hospital to DM by helicopter when I had my heart attack, went directly to the pad on the 7th floor outside the cath lab.Wow that’s a lot of land and people for only 2 level 1 facilities.
Exactly where I am at too. I have a 5th grader who wants to play so badly. We don't want to put him at risk but at the same time attend games and watch other's kids play. Our compromise has been no tackle until 8th grade.I love watching football, but holy hell sometimes I feel guilty about it. I'd be worried about my own kid playing it and yet I pay to watch other people's kids play it. It's a big conflict for me.

Seems like this injury isn't the primary concern with playing football.A collision/blow to the chest can happen in a lot of different sports.

If they went away from it and showed a replay or something, we'd be blasting them for how insensitive they were. They did exactly what they should have done.I'd be curious what Heather thinks they should have done. She had a cup of coffee at ESPN, so I'm sure she's qualified to give her opinion.
I get, to an extent, that it's hard to watch them fill airtime with the same statements. I mean, there's only so much you can say in a situation like this. But at the same time, their job is to report on matters of public interest, and this had huge public interest. So they had to stay on air and keep people informed, to the extent information became available. And they did a great job filling that airtime.
A7FL claims the game is much safer without helmets and hard pads...MY kids got a concussion his freshman year and decided to run cross country. I was thrilled. Even though I played college football. Never wanted him to play football. It's so violent. Especially the older you get. I can't imagine how hard they hit in the NFL.
the one thing that will happen with this is that it will give football a bad name (or an even worse of a name) and more and more parents will think cardiac arrest happens because people play football. It's a scary/freak injury. My kid plays football, but he also pitches in baseball. Similar fears catching a liner off of the chest, head or throat.
